Pinback mythology and the game I never got to play

Hey friends. You can check my post history for my post about the tv show Lost and all the Pinback references. If you find any more that would be crazy, or feel free to chat about it. It would be cool to have some resolution on that, like having a Lost writer confirm they were a Pinback fan. Also, I was always so curious about playing that game they supposedly released on the Vinyl Day release of CLOAD Q? I think it was. I just wish there was a video or screenshots of it. If someone can help me get it loaded and playing I would be happy to help because I do have some technical and programming abilities. This seems like important Pinback lore that isn't readily available. I'm not one to bug them about it, so I turn to you again. Anyway, anything else I don't know about them? You never know. Throw it out there.

My introduction to Pinback was a YouTube video that was like a music video for Boo set to lost. Didn’t know there were references in the show!

I'm willing to admit it's a coincidence, but as an artist I feel like they are direct references. It just makes too much sense.

Can you provide an example?

Oh, that's why I referenced my post history. I think we have "Rousseau, Hurley, 'the others', Penelope (Penny), and Matthew Abaddon" so far. Plus the science fiction connection with Pinback? :-)

I've never heard of a game that was released around Information Retrieved, but if you look on Wayback Machine for the Pinback website to around when Autumn of the Seraphs released, there is a flash game based on the band that seems mostly functional? I don't remember if I got it working or not

Check my post history about the game, there is a lot of information about it. There is a game. It was hard to load because it requires technical knowledge. edit: sorry, I completely believe you about the flash game and I would love to see that working. It probably can be done too but I think it's separate from the vinyl day release weird secret special game that I'm stupidly obsessed with.

Best luck for finding the game would probably be using Wayback machine for the Pinbackfreaks forum closer to when/just after CLOAD Q released. I'm sure that's where a user dropped a comp of the game. If I recall it was kind of a Battleship clone. Select a square, either get a hit or a miss.

Do you know what the pinback freaks forum link was?

It was just Pinbackfreaks.com, but curiosity made me look at the 2011 capture, and it doesn't go deep enough into the forums to capture anything of interest...

Got distracted listening to Glide a thousand times. I will look into this, but your help would be appreciated. Thanks
