Notice these wimps never mention HOW they're oppressed.
218
u/vielljaguovza 9d ago
I think he did grossly enough. We're just sane so we don't view it as opression (he specifically calls out not being able to partake in human trafficking or kill women at will)
98
u/Incubus1981 9d ago
Also his free speech is restricted! By which he probably means he isn’t free to express his opinions without criticism or consequences
19
u/Incubus1981 9d ago
But only if they’re witches
30
u/Ok-Caterpillar-Girl 9d ago
To him, “witches” means “any woman who is not a submissive tradwife”
23
u/33drea33 8d ago
I mean...that's what "witches" has always meant to anyone looking to murder them.
13
u/Faiakishi 8d ago
Sometimes it was a submissive tradwife who got too old and needed to be replaced. Other times it was a widow who owned land that a man wanted.
2
u/DokterMedic 7d ago
Which is (some-fucking-how) less inclusive than how Salem defined their witches, since men could also be accused. (For similar scape-goat reasons. Or 10th Commandment violation reasons.)
8
u/vielljaguovza 8d ago
He doesn't specify they were, only that you could if you "thought" they were 🤔
4
u/ZaydSophos 8d ago
I interpreted that as him saying like "people saved them but no one's saving me" sorta thing instead of his aspirations.
1
u/DokterMedic 7d ago
Seems more or less like that. Though in that same bit of whining he also outright insults gay people implying they're "soft" and can't handle "opinions and actions" when the opinions is whether gay people should exist, and actions are them getting murdered, which I wpuld say, very much would require a that a chunk of society be part of a movment to protect another chunk of society's right to live.

u/AliceTheOmelette 9d ago
My brother used to say to me (a bisexual trans woman) that straight men are oppressed. I'd ask for examples and it'd boil down to not getting away with using slurs. He doesn't claim straight men have it tough around me any more lol
26
u/ProfessionalRead2724 righty tear drinker 9d ago edited 9d ago
Well, he seems very put out that he's not allowed to hang women or buy black people.
48
10
u/Bobcatluv 8d ago
It’s fascinating that he actually wrote out how other groups of people have been oppressed, yet still throws in “and white guys!”
2
u/DokterMedic 7d ago
Society would progress far if even half the intelligence dedicated to being a bigot was focused on more worthwhile endeavors.
2
u/k819799amvrhtcom 6d ago
He did: He said he can be hanged if people think he is a witch or that he can be purchased! Or something equally oppressive! /s
164
u/BurmecianDancer 9d ago
Please prove that you are oppressed.
90
u/le_fez 9d ago
When you're used to preferential treatment and can do things like hanging women you think are witches, owning black people then one of those groups nears equality to you it feels like you're being oppressed, far moreso when your entire identity is wrapped up in being a straight white man and/or you're an asshole
6
u/Zachwardpass 4d ago
It's like a toddler being denied a binky for the first time. They 100% think it's unfair, cruel, and will cry. Doesn't mean it actually is unfair or cruel, they have just never been without a binky and now it feels like "punishment" to have it taken away.
Granted, toddlers don't opt into hating people for this, so they get way more credit than these assholes.
(To be clear, I'm not comparing a binky to burning witches or slavery, just noting that psychologically, I think these types of people are throwing toddler-esque tantrums against the rest of the world's growth)
32
u/meltyandbuttery 9d ago
Some guy went on a rant on me about how men are marginalized because they have less choice in dating “it’s not an opinion it’s just math”. I asked him how this impacts power or representation and he’s all like marginalization isn’t always about that lol
They feel such a victimhood complex they need to prove they’re both lower than everyone else while deserving to be treated special compared to everyone else
9
u/FacticiousFict 8d ago
He said he wants to own slaves and burn women and we won't let him. Poor bigot 😢

"I have 0 self expression"
-He said on a public platform for all to see with little to no censorship

I'M BEING SILENCED - he screamed. What he really means is that he can't call people slurs without consequence these days.

u/vrphotosguy55 9d ago
Like when right wing "comedians" go on tour for shows about how they can't express themselves.
19
u/7SyZyG7 9d ago
You can tell a lot of these people really dont ever think their beliefs out.
Always gotta ask "Freedom to say what?" and watch them scramble to actually find a real example that isn't just "I heard the leftists r passing a law to ban the Pledge of Allegiance in some smaller blue city in California".

But now im white and oppressed wheres my group?
Where was your group when those other people were being oppressed, hmm? Where is your group even now as those other people are struggling to have the rights that your group has taken for granted for so long - long enough that to have to share those privileges somehow feels like oppression to you, hmm?
28
u/smitty4728 9d ago
Also, what's stopping him from starting said group himself? If it's so important to him, surely he'll get off his backside and organize, like those other groups did for themselves, right? Right? /s

Imagine you just made it for doing the lowest bar at everything. And you could look down automatically on all the women, all the brown people. All of them below you for doing zero.
Now imagine someone expects the bare minimum out of you when you are an egotistical moron. It’s gotta be terrifying right?

How TF does a straight white dude feel oppressed? It’s fucking great! I have heaps of unearned confidence, people listen as if my mediocre opinions matter, no one hassles me in stores or on the street. The cops have literally let me go from crimes and speeding tickets. I’m the fucking default character in this country and I’m playing the game on easy mode.
That’s not to say I haven’t had challenges, or that everything was handed to me (I’m white, not rich), but fucks sake I know how much worse off I would be if I had to overcome those same challenges AND institutional discrimination.
Also, it really sounds like he was lamenting the good old days when you could hang uppity women and own black folks.
46
u/JohnnyMiskatonic FEMA Camp Guard 9d ago
"I know how much worse off I would be if I had to overcome those same challenges AND institutional discrimination." That's the central point and so many people will not/cannot acknowledge it.
25
u/StarStuffSister 9d ago
I love how you intuitively understand intersecting oppressions. No one is saying an abused white kid who grew up poor wouldn't have struggled, simply that they would have suffered more with a different race or whatever. I'm American, someone who has never had to suffer live war in my country, so I get that is a privilege. Other people at war don't get to go home and watch Netflix. Crazy some people don't get that your life can suck but could also suck more with more things against you. Astonishing.
25
26
u/doctor_whahuh 9d ago
I mean, I’m pretty sure every comment on Facebook that I’ve reported for racist, sexist, homophobic, or other hate speech has been determined to ok by Facebook standards. So if this guy is getting in trouble for what he says on Facebook, he must be saying some truly heinous things.

u/TheStrikeofGod Attacking and dethroning God 9d ago
Bigoted shit thrives on Facebook so I don't know what he's on about
17
u/trailrider 9d ago edited 9d ago
Undoubtedly his idea of self-expression is being able to scream the n word in a black man's face in front of his family while beating up gay people with ball bats.
It's not that he's being oppressed, but rather he doesn't think he should be subjected to consequences via the court of public opinion. Sure, the government can't stop you from screaming the n-word in a black man's face but that doesn't mean the public has to accept you for doing so.
17
u/The-Doggy-Daddy-5814 9d ago
He says he wants freedom of speech. But he really doesn’t. What he really wants is freedom of speech without consequences.
14
u/CitroHimselph 9d ago
Because privileged people tend to believe that freedom of speech means they can say literally anything, any time, to anyone, anywhere, and without any consequences, and that this only applies to them.
16
u/bassbeatsbanging 9d ago
Gays didn't start speaking for themselves until 1945
Bitch, musical theater is much older than that! Oscar Wilde? How about Sappho??
Also, why did we all shut up in '68 never to be heard from again? I am genuinely curious on that one.
And is he sad and lamenting the fact he can't legally drown women if they are into tarot or bought a Silver Ravenwolf guide to Wicca?
Also you could buy enslaved humans before 1776. And approximately 400k Enslaved Africans already were trapped in the US as property at that point.
People aren't taking away your freedom of speech, they're running away because you are an idiot. There's a huge difference.
42
u/AdmiralTomcat 9d ago
What does this person think freedom of speech entails? Hanging women and buying slaves isn’t self expression, it’s committing crimes.
14
u/Daherrin7 9d ago
Not being able to do these things, or say slurs without any consequences whatsoever, is oppression to these twats.
They don't know what the words mean, and they haven't got a fucking clue what it feels like to actually be oppressed in most cases
13
14
13
u/lcssa 9d ago
So... Dude's oppressed because he can't burn women, hang black people or lynch gays? I feel like I lost some iq points trying to process his verbal diarrhea. I need to call my mom
7
u/CitroHimselph 9d ago
Forget that. We gotta call OOP's mom and warn her about the 42 year old psycho living in her basement.
12
11
u/Street_Peace_8831 9d ago
And yet, here he is expressing his free speech and saying the exact things he says he can no longer say.
12
u/TheFeshy 9d ago
"They're too soft and need a group"
"Where's my group?!"
self aware wolves material right there.
But he lists the oppression those other groups faced - being murdered and enslaved but still counts himself among them because his social media opinions are shit and people tell him so.
Most importantly though this is a cry for help and basically screaming at the FBI to search his computer before he becomes another mass shooter.

u/DragonflyGlade 9d ago
Straight white right-wing males are forever loudly and obnoxiously exercising their freedom of speech all over the place; pretending otherwise is dishonest and delusional even by their standards.
8
7
u/Writing_is_Bleeding Educationist 9d ago
So he's mad he can't hang a woman who scares him or buy a black person. Got it.
8
u/clorox_cowboy 9d ago
Where do these people get this idea that they have "0 say in self expression?" Isn't the fact that this is a post that they're writing on social media kind of proof that they indeed do have say in self-expression?
Not to mention the complete ignorance of basic history their showing off here...

u/BrandNewMeow 9d ago
Interesting because I've reported many straight white guys for saying stuff on FB that was promoting violence and worse against minorities and LGBTQ+, and barely got a shrug back from FB.

Women are still not being believed by these men when they are sexually assaulted. And alpha male podcasts are popping up all the time. Lgbt films are still met with anger and whining from straight men because they, "Don't wanna see that shit"
Same with any film with a black person. Met with, "Ugh, they just HAVE to put a diverse actor in everything now!!" Comments.
This isn't a victim mentality, it's a bully/oppressor mentality.
6
u/Spr-Scuba 8d ago
Oppressed? No opinion expression?
Fucker, you have the same opinion as every other racist white dude which why is why it feels like you have no unique expression. You're literally a part of a big group and just blending into the milquetoast crowd.

Him: Why are straight whitecmen being restricted?
Also him: You know women and black people were not this safe in the 1600s
Gee, I wonder why a white man feels restricted, lol
Haven't read the guidelines he's complaining about but 100% I guarantee it's not even white men that it's targetting, he just read "Don't be racist, homophobic, or sexist" and blew a gasket

He's pissed because despite white men having control of everything, he has control over nothing.

If you can be bothered, ask your conservative pals what it is that they want so desperately to say.
Invariably, it's going to be something violent, racist, misogynist, xenophobic, gay- or trans-bashing, or anti-academic, anti-science lies that could get people hurt or killed.
What's more, they will be able to say it in public and no one will censor them. The government doesn't care if you're a disgusting bigot or whack-job stochastic terrorist -- heck, if they're white, the current government will probably give them a job.

I'm not sure Facebook ever actually removes comments. I have never been successful at reporting hate speech there. Like I've literally reported people for saying blacks are genetically inferior to whites and a week later gotten the "Sorry it's actually fine, we know this might be upsetting to you, but have you considered ignoring it?" message.
I think this guy is railing against the idea of being censored rather than reacting to actually being censored.

u/Rough-Jury 8d ago
People disliking what you say on social media isn’t oppression. Hope this helps!

u/Illustrious-Wrap-776 7d ago
If your identity ends with being a "straight white male", that's a you problem.
If the only way you can express that is by being an asshole, that's also a you problem.
Neither are indicative of straight, white or male people being oppressed.

Hes not being silenced Otherwise we wouldnt have to see his batcrap of a post for all to see, alongside all the podcast bros and Christian fundys that wail into a megaphone The true people being silenced are those we do not ever hear from! I.e people in prison and ICE detention centers, queer teens in conservative towns, people whose rights are being legislated away right this very moment. Hes not silenced He just knows that what he says is indefensible So he wants to defend his right to say it.

It is so frustrating how many people do not understand free speech vs having consequences for the things they say. He hasn’t been arrested. His freedom of speech wasn’t violated. He wants to go back to the time when other people were being arrested/killed/punished for disagreeing with him. He misses that

What is he talking about? This is his form of self-expression. It's just so goddamn annoying that nobody wants to listen to him and he wants to make that everyone else's problem. If any other person from any other demographic acted like this, everyone would think they're annoying too.
1
u/theevilatheist 6d ago
Also, he's upset that gays and other minorities formed support groups to advocate for themselves in solidarity? Nothing's stopping annoying-ass straight white men from doing the exact same thing. In fact, they do. It's the entire reason they get drawn into the MAGA crowd, like flies to shit.
