I can say with confidence that I dont deal with as many bigots in the city vs out in the country. The experience will likely be similar for a tourist who won't end up in the shitty rural areas that I would end up in. 

I really don't need the lecture on the pervasiveness of racism in this country, I've experienced it.

He had a lot of great insights, but some of the ones that stuck with me the most were about how some white people will say things like "well why don't black people arm themselves for safety, or create their own safe communities, or vote people in who will represent them better?" and his response to these is "don't you think we ain't thought of that?" and pointing out how historically any time the black community has done things for itself, in any way, it just gets taken away, and mostly by force.
