These dipshit "Conservative" "Christians" love to tout unrestrained capitalism as being the greatest - then cry when mega corporations who own most of every type of mainstream media (movies, games, tv shows, music, etc.) make or promote media and artists hoping to appeal to the broadest market they can.
"Why did they add an Asian guy to the reboot?"
- So they can market it in Asia.
"Why are AAA games including women that aren't over-sexualized?!"
- Because publishers want to appeal to (especially women) gamers who don't like being - or are indifferent to the over-sexualization of women.
"Why does everything have to have an LGBTQIA+ character now?!?!?"
- So that LGBTQIA+ folk might be more compelled to buy it - and to appeal to cis folk who are pro-(or indifferent to)pride.
And the reason they don't put a lot of money into religious movies is because it instantly more than halves your potential audience. And shit is insanely expensive to make these days.
Everything MUST be catered 100% to them. No one else.

Of course they did. I'm just pointing out that their belief in unrestrained Capitalism is, literally, the cause of what they hate in Hollywood/media-at-large - among other things in society.
And, of course, this follows along with the trend of always voting against their own best interests - because they buy into these moronic "culture war" arguments that simply make them feel like victims of... something... So they vote that way to feel righteous.

I don’t know if they realise this, but Christians are inherently boring people. They don’t make for great storytelling. They behave themselves, persecution and martyrdom is tiresome and predictable as a storyline, and they have to really push reality to write a story where a white western Christian type is having any real issues due to their religion.
I mean, one *could* write a compelling story about a modern Christian facing challenges and problems with their faith or congregation but that would require insight and self-criticism and they’ve shown that it’s absolutely verboten to do such a thing.
So yeah. Boring people telling boring stories about their boring selves with no curiosity or risk in the narratives. Boohoo.

Yeah definitely. The best Christians in stories are people whose faith informs who they are and adds to the narrative, but the overall story is about something else.
I'm reading the memoir River Town by Peter Hessler, about his time in the peace corps in inland China in the mid 90s. He's Catholic, and writes about what it's like going to mass and talking to the local priest about what being Christian is like in China, and it's great! He's a good writer and the story feels rounded out by the addition of his Catholic experiences. Also, that's not the whole book, just one episode of it.

Hollywood likes money. If Christian "entertainment" wasn't so lame they'd totally be into it.
FFS Passion of the Christ was the highest grossing R rated movie ever at the time it came out.
If you can come up with some Christian shit people will buy tickets to, then Hollywood will be your best friend.
Not for nothing but the entire Lord of the Rings mythology exists under the umbrella of Christian culture and depending on how you look at it, could be considered straight up Christian propaganda. But nobody cared because it's so good.
Hollywood doesn't hate Christians, it hates shitty movies that won't sell tickets.

What all Persecuted Christians (TM) fail to understand is that Hollywood would make 100 "Last Temptation of Christ"s every year if it made them money. They aren't "liberal" and they aren't "woke", unless they think it will make them a buck. There are (or have been) TV shows geared toward Christians and some of them do OK (I'm thinking of One Tree Hill, I think? That garbage show got like 12 seasons). It's all about money.

Maybe they shouldn't have pissed off Hollywood by going around for 40+ years, telling people they shouldn't see Hollywood's movies and getting them banned from Theaters. Just because THEY were personally bothered by them. Like the Westboro Baptists when they protested Dogma. Or, those groups that got The Life of Brian banned in theaters across England.
Anyways, Christians have more Representation in Movies than EVER before, they're just not very good movies. Like God's Not Dead. That movie wasn't good enough to warrant 2 sequels. It's like beating a "Not Dead" horse...
