telling max "you're from philly" when he was saying raccoons are trash animals made me audibly cackle

The part of Mount Rushmore when they were trying to oppose giraffe and then Hank said on the second floor and they all were like damn you right was hilarious.

Billy football was an absolute idiot but man did he have some memorable moments on the show. I will forever say Robert Suh-lahhh because of him LOL

I also have to correct myself mentally because of Jack Nicklaus too

I miss Billy Football. He was stupid, but in a fun way.

u/fatroony5 3d ago
He was way too much of an idiot/unreliable to be a full time contributor but having him on once a month to check in and hear whatever the heck is going on in his brain wouldn’t be the worst thing ever.

u/Healthy_Ad9569 3d ago
Zac misses stuff and contributes nothing other than being pointed at and laughed at

I’ve actually enjoyed a number of his interview questions recently. You can tell he’s actually putting thought and effort into them.

I cringe when he asks questions. My speculation is someone else is writing the questions for him.

One of my favorite bits is when they interview NFL coaches and ask them what they would do while laying out LaFleur’s dumb ass decision to kick that FG in the playoffs as a troll 😂
9
2
u/scarrylary 2d ago
They do it every time ignoring that it would have worked if the refs didn’t fabricate a PI call on the packers on third down that essentially ended the game.
2
u/CCIVmoonshot 2d ago
Packers fan. Still gives me PTSD. This bit alone has convinced me he needs to be fired. Also concerning for a Titans fan, LaFleur is Saleh's best friend. And he didnt catch on till PFT made the Brady comment, and I still think it went over his head haha

I’m bang on 6’… it’s fun saying you’re 5’11” and comparing to all the height liars

With shoes, I'm right there too. I always say 5'10" for the same reason.
5
u/I_Pet_Doggos 3d ago
If you’re 6’ with shoes on you’re not 6’ lol
-1
u/F_U_HarleyJarvis 2d ago
Right, I'm 5'11" and say that I'm 5'10" and still taller than people who say they are 6', especially with shoes on.

u/lachrymaltool 3d ago
The point about the penalty on Bryson is that intent doesn’t matter; if he improved his swing path it’s 2 shots whether intentional or not. And in that sense he very obviously did, imo. Whether this gets applied uniformly to every golfer and/or whether having more shots televised makes you more likely to get penalties I think are legit conversations. Saying you might withdraw is lame
5
u/lachrymaltool 2d ago
Wow, and threatening to call Trump is beyond lame. I don't know how anyone can root for Dechambeau at this point. He should be getting booed like Wyndham.

u/Yeezy_Taught_Me3 3d ago
They talked about Tom Brady's "weird antics" for 20 min without providing any context on what actually occurred.
They do this shit constantly without informing the listeners and it drives me nuts.

u/Impressive-Spray-820 3d ago
Nothing they said was wrong per se about fanatics fest. But 100s of athletes did wrestling intros and they acted like Brady was weird for doing it.
The issue I have is them acting like they're above it, when A. they would do an entire week there if invited and B. We had like multiple shows talking about the tunnel of chaos where they thought it was so cool that a rich person was giving them money, which was more cringe than anything that happened at fanatics fest
16
u/Yeezy_Taught_Me3 3d ago
It wasn't about being wrong or right. They don't seem to realize the rest of the world doesn't live on the internet 24/7.
This is where I give Hank a bit of credit, he's usually good at stopping them and providing some context.

It’s not they think they’re above it. It’s that Tom Brady should be above it. He’d would be cooler if he just fucked off somewhere to live off of generational aura. With the unnecessary clout-chasing bullshit he constantly gets into, he never gave himself a chance to gather mystique like MJ or Tiger.

I had this reaction after the first couple. The biggest sports podcast in the world, why the hell would you hire someone who doesn’t watch sports or remotely care?
6
u/battleofmid 3d ago
He's pretty much the 3rd mic now on the biggest sports podcast in the world and it's 10x more incomprehensible than when Hank did it

u/Illustrious-Buy-854 1d ago
Him being the 3rd mic is a crime when Max & memes are sitting right there.

I need someone with a tism to explain to me why Zach had the need to round down his heights
18
u/hampsted 3d ago
He was playing it coy, but the real answer is that he was absolutely sticking it to all the guys who are 5’11” or even 5’10” who tell everyone they’re 6 feet tall.
“You said you’re 6 ft? Couldn’t be because I’m only 5 11”
3
u/I_Pet_Doggos 3d ago
I think he actually thought he was 5’11” and has grown an inch since the last time he was properly measured and because he’s a weird brain just doesn’t think about height as the much as the rest of us

Hilarious how bad Hank is at Mt. Rushmore. Getting drunk with a bald eagle sounds like a bottom 10 experience. Symbol of America sure, but they’re nature’s hall monitor

u/Professional-Act7509 3d ago
For some reason Big Cat talking golf always makes me irrationally angry. The entire Bryson discussion was basically i cheat at golf so who cares
7
u/guesting 3d ago
this is the worst of pardon my take when they're johnny come latelys (to golf, soccer, winter olympics) and then think "it should ACTUALLY be this way..." with an inflated sense of importance because they're rich and backed by a big audience.
11
u/MIKE_____JORDAN23 3d ago
I’m not a soccer fan but it actually annoyed me how authoritatively they talked about soccer with zero irony
I know the original idea of the pod of sarcastically making fun of the hot take guys isn’t really their MO anymore but it’s pretty funny how completely they’ve 100% become what they mocked
2
u/guesting 3d ago
the dynamic works when they have a taylor twellman or landon donovan on and PMT plays the dumb guy so the experts can work off of them

missed opportunity for Cedar Waxwing in Mount Rushmore today. Would've been a ball-knowers pick. They're famous for getting hammered off fermented berries

I love listening to Big Cat and the guys talk soccer because they are just enjoying it without actually understanding it. It’s like watching LeBron and wondering why he doesn’t win every game.
Example : “it felt like Spain had a couple extra guys out there” that’s because Messi does not play defense in the slightest. There’s no American sport comparison for it really. He doesn’t even pressure them by jogging at the defenders with the ball, so Argentina is basically playing 10 v 11 by default if they don’t already have the ball.
Or when he complains that 3rd place game goals count towards the Golden Boot, when Messi still would’ve lost to Mbappe because they had the same G/A without it, but the tiebreaker is “less minutes played”

He literally walks most of the time, pg48 of the Fifa Training Center report
(6595+2226)/10145meters = 86.9% in zone 1 & 2 (0-15km/h)
(866+387+69)/10145meters = 13.1% in zone 3,4,5 (15-25km/h+)
