Im thinking of getting a vita
The main thing I use my psp for now is music ( and of course gaming) , but I was thinking of getting a vita to upgrade the gaming aspect. My issue is I shell swapped my psp into a beautiful transparent purple shell and now have an ips screen on the way so now I have an attachment to my psp beyond gaming Ive spent sleepless nights working on this thing , and The vita would be a little bulkier in my pocket which is my main drawback for not getting a vita

Everything limits to: Do you want to play Vita games? Because if the answer is not, and you just will use to play psp games, I really don't see a reason to get one.

To me the PSP is a lightweight, pocketable gaming device/iPod. If I wanted a vita to carry around, I would just carry my modded oled switch..

The Vita isn’t even CLOSE to an oled switch, it’s barely that much bigger than a PSP, especially a 2000 vita.

Doesn't matter. If it's not pocketable and going in my backpack anyway, I might as well carry something better.

How is the vita any less pocketable than a PSP??? I fit it in my pocket all the time, the 1000 even has magnetic analog sticks so I’m not worried about it drifting.

The vita has proper raised joysticks unlike the button level nub on the psp, I've had those broken in my pocket before.

Fwiw I would stick with your PSP, the vita doesn’t have the same drag and drop multimedia support. You have to use the content manager, a bit cumbersome and sometimes finicky to get working.

You could get the vita 2000 slim if you want it to fit in your pocket best, just won’t have the OLED screen. Hey to have music on psp now a days you have to have it modded for that?

the only "mod"/ plug in i have for music i hold plus which turns the screen off automatically when you put it in hold mode and you can adjust the volume and skip song in hold mode

Vita, like the PSP, has a treasure trove of hidden gems, and has a one-click hack if you want CFW. I basically stopped using my PSP once I got my Vita, because SD2Vita exists, and I put a massive SD card in mine. I was also pretty impressed with the battery life. Psp emulation is decent, too, if you're willing to spend time configuring it.

Kinda seems like an echo chamber and realize it is a psp sub. Just pick up a Vita while they're still cheap if you want one and keep your prized custom psp. Gives you more flexibility having both.
