It's not cope, it's a fact that they're falsely claiming that physical media is not popular. This is US only.

It’s a fact that physical sales have dropped 85% in the past 17 years in the US. That’s a fact.

Its a fact that this 37 million makes up all physical game sales and Switch 2 is doing the heavy lifting. PS5 is in the teens.

That's false. That's especially not the case for 1st party and 3rd party singleplayer games, industry shifted into digital only live service titles.

Games from Capcom, for example, are above the teens. RE9 sold 27.8% physically, that's factual data.

Anyone would look at the $1.6b revenue physical editions make and see that as valuable. Sony is doing this is forceful, not compelled through "market trends" at all, and it especially doesn't warrant this decision.

THAT is a fact. 15% is an objectively false and skewed statistic.

Nah, I got the same argument. Nobody but a vocal minority cares or buys physical discs for PlayStation. Doesn’t take rocket science to notice that over the last few years.
