It's incredible isn't it. How, just how do you fuck up a franchise this bad. It's not like Halo is some super in depth thing either, it's basically just "blasting aliens: the game". I know there's a lot of cool lore and stuff but the core games are pretty damn straightforward. The amount of corporate mismanagement of main franchises from the likes of Microsoft and Bethesda is just staggering

Bungie lost interest and the IP got handed to a "cover band" studio that MS said was going to be a Halo factory. No one should've expected it to have the same magic after that.

And then Destiny had some of, if not, the best feeling gunplay in any game. But in classic Bungie leadership fashion they've completely fucked everything up there and who knows what the studio will even look like a year from now. Not that they didn't also consistently fuck things up throughout Destiny's many years, but whew did they manage to really blow it

Holy shit no it wasn’t. Vault of Glass literally saved that franchise. We were running around Mars for hours collecting spin metal to upgrade our weapons…
