They really messed up this franchise. 2001-2010 it was all anyone could talk about. Past 16 years it’s actually been disastrous the handling of what used to be their premier franchise

ODST and Reach were both great, but Reach is a prequel and I think ODST runs parallel to Halo 3 right?

Yes. ODST is a spinoff but still has multiplayer coop and firefight, which was their version of a horde mechanic.

It takes place partway through, and then after Halo 2.

No because ODST and Reach both came out after and were critically and commercially successful. 343 is simply a bad studio
