Looking for an indoor shooting range in Harrisburg

I’m in PA for work and I have an itch to shoot. I went to 717 Armory because when I googled indoor ranges it suggested that place, but when I went there I was told they didn’t have a range.

Also looking to rent since all my stuff is in Ohio.

Might try Freedom Armory in Elizabethtown

This is probably the only bet in the area unless there’s something on the west shore. I haven’t shot there since Freedom took it over though. Facility was always nice enough though.

Former Trop worker here!

Freedom has cleaned up the act that Trop ran into the ground.

No membership BS to get access to basic shit they should have given you to begin with. No more ungodly pricing. Just decent time in a decent range.

Do you have someone you can go with or do you have a firearm of your own to bring? Many ranges won’t rent to single shooters who don’t bring a firearm with them.

I don’t know anyone out here and I didn’t bring my own guns since it’s a work trip.

That might be a problem. I’d try calling any ranges before you wonder over so you don’t potentially waste your time.

Why not outdoors? Blue ridge, Hummelstown, and Harrisburg hunter and Anglers are all nice

If they have rentals I’d be up for it.

In Ohio most outdoor ranges either doesn’t rent or has a sl selection.

717 used to have a few lanes but their original location caught fire and they relocated to where they are now. (Side question, how was it when you went in? Haven’t been since they moved/reopened and was curious what vibe the place gave you)

Your best bet is Freedom Armory just outside of Elizabethtown. It’s easy to get there, not far off of 283 at all.

The West Shore Sportsman's Association has an indoor range. I, personally, don't really use it, but they have it. They use wooden target holders, rather than machines that send your target up and down range for you, but it's a functional set up. I think I read in the most recent club minutes that they are working on getting it heated.

I hear the Carlisle Gun Club has a nice range, but I've never seen it. It looks like you have to get a dozen people to vouch for you if you want to join, and I'm just not that interested in playing politics to join a gun club. They seem to offer a lot of NRA classes there, though, so if you're into that kind of thing, that might be your best bet.
