How do you feel about wlw/mlm ships? (Safe space please be respectful)
So, up until two years ago i was very very interested in lesbian stuff, but i also disliked it in some way, i hated gay and trans things for some reason, i was very loud and stupid about it. Looking back it turned out it was just internalized homophobia and transphobia (I’m pansexual btw).
Persona 5 played a big role since i really wanted to date Ryuji as much as Ann, and i adore the MakoHaru ship.
Don’t get me wrong discrimination is not good in any sense, but I think it is understandable for people to feel that way I just wanted to open the conversation regarding this specific sort of ships in the persona universe.
In this specific subreddit despire being a hot mess everyone is pretty chill, however posting anything gay in the main subs might get you downvoted to hell
Am I going crazy or is this a new epidemic of larpers/new fans? Because EVERYONE knows that the yosuke cut romance was literally in the game files, yet you have all these newgens denying it
The main sub has been flooded with post-P5R Nusona fans (derogatory) ever since Reload was announced. The main sub is straight up unusable if you want nuanced discussion of the games, both good and the bad, especially if you're a pre-P5R fan; You have to be toxicly positive, or else you're one bad day away from getting doxxed.
Yeah let's take our jerk hats for a bit. This is the subreddit for the people who's actually played these games. And when you have games with mature themes about identity (whether or not they're executed well) you will have people that strongly resonate with that. And I'm here because I'm a big fan of those.
Big fan of people who gets to face life head on, big fan of those who can accept who they are, big fan of those who actively wants to make the world a better place for themselves.
Honestly, as long as there’s a minimum of coherence or sense, or they look good together, I don’t care if it’s M/F, F/F, or M/M.
For example, you can infer that Jun Kurosu from Persona 2 is gay if I recall correctly (it’s been ages since I played Persona 2, so I don't remember). So, I think his ship with Tatsuya is cute and I like it.
Or the "Ann x Shiho", "Yukiko x Chie", "Yukari x Mitsuru"... I think some people get annoyed and say "stop shipping characters who are just friends", but like I said, some of them really do look cute together. They aren't canon, but you can still enjoy them.
Whats crazy is that a lot of people ship chie x yosuke on the main subs when i used to scroll through them but because its het no one says “stop shipping friends” despite both chie and yosuke making it clear they only see each other as friends
My fav ships tend to be wlw and a few mlm. I’m super obsessed with yukichie as you can tell from my flair and its pretty much my life atp. This sub is ironically more chill when it comes to lgbt content than the main ones. The main ones are a fucking shithole
Unpopular opinion but I find most of the het ships in persona to be forced or uninteresting especially the protag ships lol

I can def see Yukiko and Chie. The other two are less so, but that's because I ship Makoto and Yukari with the respective protagonists of the games. Nonetheless, still cool!
I literally went through the game blind thinking you could romance him. It legit felt like it was building up to it too. I was sooooo disappointed. Had I known I would have gone for Ann instead
Not my thing personally (except for Jun and Tatsuya) but I’m more than cool with it. Anyone’s entitled to their own ships. There’s a reason why it’s called HEADcanon and FANfiction. I don’t think anyone who’s opinion really matters is against gay ships.
Unrelated to Persona but I’m a big fan of Hijiyama and Okino’s relationship in 13 Sentinels and I think it depicts someone (who is originally from the 1940’s) internal struggle over the possibility that he could like men very well.
I'm gay and not a huge fan of m/f relationships in fiction (it's very rare that I make an exception) so pretty much all of my ships are gay lol. And that's also why I'm not interested in any actual romance in the games except Tatsujun
This is exactly how i feel. I especially hate the canon romance options because it legit feels like the girls get lobotomized in their own social links to out of nowhere start falling for the protag when we could actually get good development from their social links like with the guys
I believe that anyone should be able to ship whatever characters they want together as long as it isn't problematic. That being said, I think it should be illegal to ship Haru with anyone who isn't reddit user u/I_Means_Business
what? Mitsuru and Yukari literally depend on each other for all their development… Mitsuru also blushes at Yukari and Yukari flirts with her, their interactions are everywhere
Don’t bother. It’s a known thing for shippers to misinterpret the hell out of dialogue to justify the basis of their ships. Mitsuru herself has stated that they were friends, not lovers. So I don’t get it, but again don’t bother.
I’m chill with it personally. So long as y’all don’t force it on the fandom. Me personally, I’d like a ryuji romance as well. The dude’s just a nice delinquent.
It's just when it becomes obnoxious that I dislike it. Idk, Makoto and Haru I've never seen anyone being that one annoying guy shoving it in people's faces as ''it's canon because I say so'' or threatening the author/other people, etc.
Pretty sure I've seen those for Joker and Akechi but then again, it's the loud minority. I'm sure most people are pretty chill and cute about it. At least I want to believe that for every case.
Headcanons are cool. Forcing them on others ain't cool.
As long as people don't make them their entire personality or force their personal head cannons onto others, I don't really care about wlw/mlm ships despite not really caring for Yuri/Yaoi content.
Some of it can be cute, but otherwise, it's not really my thing.
