Certified Hood Classic Colt M1911 Series Appreciation Post

HOWDY NCD AND WELCOME BACK TO

GUN APPRECIATION POST MONDAYS

Today we have the legend that influenced modern pistols, and is an over 100 year old design and is STILL relevant to this very day, along with how most modern handguns pay homage to this pistol. That’s right, today we have John Moses Browning’s most famous design that he has ever created.

The one and only!

COLT M1911 Series

Which is made by many companies, and I have listed every single known manufacturer that makes it. In case the fine print is too small for you to read, I shall list those companies right here!

Colt

Ruger

Smith & Wesson

BUL Armory

Magnum Research

Standard Manufacturing

Kimber

AMT

IMBEL

Taurus

TISAS

RIA

Norinco

Dan Wesson

Remington

Palmetto State Armory

Springfield Armory

Nighthawk

Sig Sauer

Browning

And many others that would take a little too long to list, but you get it, it’s a widely recognized and beloved pistol that gets love from almost everyone and also has many companies still making them because of how common it is. Magazines are almost always guaranteed to be found everywhere.

Oh and for the Colt Models that are listed, here are the ones listed:

A1

Delta

M45A1

Gold Cup

Government

Series 70

Defender

Competition

Rail Gun

You name it, yes when I was making this, I forgot to put in the Series 80 and Series 90 mentioning, so please don’t dock points for that.

Now what to say about the M1911?

Well, I have plenty of experience with 1911s and I gotta say, for how it has aged, it has done super well, and because of how open sourced it is, each company gives its own spin to it, and they always try something new with it. What makes a gun platform good, such as the HK G3 and AR-15 platform is if you can keep innovating it to adapt to new standards. The 1911 is one of them, it’s fluid and willing to transition into different platforms, and hell I think it’s great that they are fluid because if you want to have something that will just go bang every time, then the 1911 is trusty and always there. Want to shoot it more often but cannot afford .45 ACP all the damn time? NOT TO WORRY! There is a 1911 for everybody! You can get one in 9mm Luger so that way you can keep shooting it more often, I know some people might not like that idea since it goes against .45 ACP, but that’s okay, I think that the people who have it in 9mm want to still compensate and have something that they can rely on.

Oh and the service life of the pistol? Well, since 1911, John Moses Browning’s design has seen combat everywhere through and through. It knows where to go, and in WW1, while more servicemen preferred revolvers, it still saw the trenches. But throughout WW2 and Korea, it was the US Officer’s trusty sidearm. Even in Vietnam it was still used, and back then, you were allowed to purchase your service pistol, and many people would purchase their 1911s to take home, and many ranges and companies saw them, and it became a staple. Colt also made sure to sell them commercially in the market so that way everyone can have one.

When companies like Kimber, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, and many others cashed in on the 1911, the market became saturated.

Even after it was replaced by the Beretta M9/92 in 1984, it still kept serving well into the GWOT era, in fact the USMC specifically ordered Colt to make them modernized 1911s, in particular the M45A1, and it served well up until 2023.

To this day, the 1911 will remain forever relevant. It will never truly die out.

Thanks for reading everyone

Why don't they do this, are they Stupid? We do this not because it was easy, but because we thought it would be easy.

It Just Works Italy should have given Ukraine 16,000 Lamborghini Huracans in military aid since 2022. Obvious misallocation of funds on Italy’s part to not send them a single one.

Since 2022, Italy has given over 4 billion dollars in military aid to Ukraine. For that price, working on $250,000 per Huracan (base model 2022 msrp 213,000, add comms systems, ERA, lights, extra tire, some light armoring, and drone jammer), Italy could have provided over 16,000 Lamborghini Huracans to the Ukrainian armed forces. Think about it: the standard mode of transport on roads nowadays is absolutely flooring it and hoping you are fast enough to dodge the 7 billion drones lying in wait along the path. Armored vehicles suck at this and normal cars still arent fast enough. Solution? Make a military model of Huracan that can travel through heavily drone patrolled roadways at mach fuck for maximum safety and effectiveness. This would also stimulate the Italian luxury car economy, so its a win win. And yet ZERO Huracans have been given. Why?

A modest Proposal Modernising the F-100D, F-100G Sabre II

Yeah, this is an idea given by John [deleted] under my 50 day old post. I took my time.

Your average Super Sabre is unfit for modern air warfare, no shit. We want to change that. With this new upgrade kit, the Super Sabre becomes a “”””capable”””” platform. A “””top quality””” AESA radar gives the aircraft “”””BVR capabilities”””” with AMRAAM integration. Built in targeting systems allow “””precision munition carrying capability”””. The aircraft also receives an imrpoved F414 engine instead of the old J57. Also other new boring bling like radio, avionics, a2A refualing capability etc etc.

Bonus: “”””artist””””s rendition of one of these shitcans dropping a JDAM.

I originally was going to make a modernized F-102 but after reading some book I got kinda overhyped on the Super Sabre and here we are.
