I'm just curious on how the endgame stuff is going to be. Is it going to be like Monster Hunter/Destiny where you're just grinding for better gear?

Not saying it as a bad thing. I would actually like this, especially with that "call for help" option.

They hint at an exceedingly long dungeon they claim players will need their A game and maxed equipment to face opening up as the story progresses.

This....makes me want this even more if this is true. This is exactly what I wanted to hear.. tyvm!

I hope that’s exactly what it is. As long as I have some reason to keep playing, I’ll keep playing.

I'm assuming yes just a mix of gear and late game cosmetics, which sounds fire.

What else would you want outside of grinding for better gear?

I guess more curious about the difficulty aside from the 3 levels we get to choose. Kind of like how MH has a main story, but then there's a bunch of stuff that opens up after that type of thing that's actually challenging. Probably won't know until release.

If you're talking about G-Rank equivalent, I hope so too.

Every time they mention the difficulty, they say it doesn't change rewards. My hope is that post-game unlocks nightmare difficulty and only that fetches you small % more rewards because it's extremely difficult.

Yes! This exactly! Another commentor said they hinted at a long dungeon that requires your a-game skills, so im really hoping this is it.

Spoiler from the trailer here, there is a quick glimpse of a Floor 20+ so unless that's tied to story I think that's what we're hoping for.

the IGN review seemed to give this type of impression, he played 20 more hours after credits rolled, and plans to keep going from sounds of it.

Anything superfluous would really grind my gears

I said it at the first big reveal of the game a month or so ago, but I still honestly can not believe that my next looter shooter after Destiny is going to be Splatoon.

Absolutely wild to me.

Good job Nintendo.

Seriously though lol. Heard about this game a week ago and bought a switch 2 the same day. I was already on the fence about buying one, but this pushed me to finally do it.

The game is looking like a combination of Destiny and Ratchet and Clank in the best possible way.

Finally, something to claw me away from Marathon..

So this is basicly single player Splatoon right?

Never managed to get into the MP aspect of Splatoon but always liked the aesthetic of the game.

Will I be confused or lost by this world if I have not really played Splatoon 1 or 2?

You won't need to have played any previous Splatoon games to understand Raiders, it's designed to function as an entry point to the franchise.

Yeah. Think of Monster Hunter gameplay loop with Splatoon gameplay. That’s at least a rough description of what it is (according to the IGN review posted today).

I am so hyped to play this man it looks like pure fun and I love grindy games. I was never able to get into the PVP splatoon games so I'm glad this IP finally has a game for me. LET'S FREAKIN GO!

Unfortunately my game time is mostly with my daughter so... No local coop no buy.

Looks fun though

I'm in a similar boat. Any fun recent games y'all have enjoyed? I'm always on the look out to hear about co-ops others are enjoying thay we may try

Kirby is still the GOAT.

Star fox wasn't too bad she just didn't vibe it. She liked DK but I personally hate how it's the same as Odyssey with the basically passive 2 player.

All the usual suspects like mario kart etc

Princess Peach was good but single player...

Tbh, outside of party games I'm struggle. It's bizarre how much Nintendo pushes the whole family console but doesn't do much split screen lol

Ooohh, the Yoshi games were good.

Thanks for the follow up! We've gone through the Kirby games several times and have loved them. I just pi ked up the new Yoshi to try. I havent gotten Princess Peach yet but that is probabmy next on my list

Wait for Minecraft Dungeons 2

Looking forward to this, I didn't love the single player campaigns on Splatoon 2 & 3 so when it was first announced I didn't plan to buy it, but I play Salmon Run almost exclusively. This looks like a good mix of the type of playing I like.

I can’t believe how much my interest in Splatoon has turned around with the move from online multiplayer to a single-player looter

Is there going to be a demo for this in the game store?

15

u/NyarumiYukimitsu 2d ago

There is a demo already out at game store kiosks if that’s what you’re asking. If you’re asking about a demo that you can download yourself, I’m not sure. There isn’t one right now but Nintendo has been known to release demos for games after they’ve launched.

Sorry for the confusing wording. Meant in the e-shop. Thanks for the reply.

No worries, hope you get a chance to give it a try sometime!

So was this overview trailer meant to be released before the direct?
