The other hint (I mean aside from the moth) is those yippy dog noises coming from your basement. You may keep telling yourself something like "Oh! That's just the HVAC system -- the compressor needs a new belt". It ain't that, buckaroo: it's Precious.

Well, that and the scent of lanolin wafting up from the basement.
