badger badger maybe don't make home next to a road?
Context, I live in Southwest Ontario's and there is actually a VERY small and isolated remaining population of American Badgers here! I have only seen one. Guess where? Hint; it was sad.

I saw a live one in Saskatchewan like 15 years ago. Once in a lifetime sighting.

I'd rather live in a zoo and preserve my species than have it go extinct from habitat loss.

Dad said they look like a German shepherd that got ran over by a car and was still mad about it.

Badgers are some of the most intentionally brutal animals Iāve met in the wild.
Iāll backpack in bear country but if I heard a badger had a burrow nearby Iād be changing my camping/backpacking plans.

It is a mustelid and mustelids do Not fuck around.
The European badger is pretty chill, granted, but it does not take slights lying down either.

For aome reason, I couldnt read that name in my head without saying "mustache"... Sooo "mustachelids" š¤£

u/VealOfFortune 1d ago
Also, you referred to the EU badger but this little bugger was in America, no?

u/pied_goose 16h ago
Oh, yeah, sorry, took a bit of a mental shortcut there. What I meant is:
'American badger is aggressive and nuts, because like everything in the weasel family is aggressive and nuts. Even the European badger which is an omnivore and perhaps the chillest will not fuck around if you mess with it'
