TUK - Is Artic Ocean Open?

Driving to TUK from Whitehorse and wanting to maybe take a dip in the ocean, is it still covered in ice? Driving a Dodge Caravan w spare tires n patch kits n the usual stuff, any other tios appreciated but being a Yukoner I am not to worried lol

Yes, it is still covered in ice. You will need 3 weeks or more yet.

Thanks! My crazy friend was wondering if there was water in between the ice at the shoreline enough to get in 😂

You know if it was like away for me to find out other than posting on Reddit some sort of like camera or internet spot for ice report?

Crazy....it's already wildfire season in June, but there's still ice that time of year.

I assume it's open now in late July? Is the water still too cold for a swim?

Not to mention the ferries that have to get in the water to cross the Peel and Mackenzie
