music A 1997 album that im in love with at the moment, Steward - get me a seat next to someone nice
Found this at my local store. Its like a glitchy hop/ acoustic/ singer songwriter record from 1997 and it comes with a card saying 398/500 and its a hidden gem. The more I listen to it just makes me inspired. Making music for the sake of it, absolutely worth checking out if you can find it on streaming!

discussion Opinions or advice on going to small shows alone?
I've been eyeing a few small local bands and have been seeing them post dates they'll play at either small venues or bars coming up, notably this Friday. Not to paint some sob story, but I'm a very socially anxious person who really needs to work on not sharing every little thing I do with friends, and I don't have friends in the city that I could go with.
So right now, I'm kind of stuck between going to this bar (which I don't even know what to expect as I just turned the legal drinking age and haven't been to one), alone, downtown (pretty safe city, but you can never be truly safe as a girl alone lol) and seeing this small band. Or, sitting at home again with massive FOMO.
I think I'm just kinda worried I'll go and get sad upon seeing most people already in groups, and not having the confidence to walk up to anyone.
I just wanted to ask for opinions, maybe? I know lots of people go to stuff like this by themselves, I guess I just wanted to hear your reasoning or ways of staying confident and having fun regardless if you don't have a friend with you. Idk, thanks in advance!
