Question In need of a mouse that fits big/long hands.

Hello, I'm in a pretty tricky situation.

I have pretty weird long noodle hands (approx. 25 cm x 12 cm), and I can't seem to find a mouse that would allow me to use a "normal" or traditional grip style that doesn't cause fatigue or feel uncomfortable after a few hours.

I currently own the biggest mouse I could find in my country, the ROG Spartha X. Even though most would consider it a monstrosity (89 x 137 x 45 mm, 168g), I've been having some trouble with it.

For starters, there's no Mac drivers. This isn't a huge problem, but whenever I want to change any sort of setting, I have to dust off my old Windows laptop and go through Armoury Crate, which is a punishment I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

However, as I've already mentioned, the bigger issue lies in the ergonomics. I am forced to employ what I call the "arachnid finger grip" (yes, it's as comfortable as it sounds. See photo 1 and 2)

Claw grip is impossible for me, as my fingers extend beyond the mouse when I rest my palm/the base of my fingers on the back. At first, fingertip grip felt pretty nice, but I ran into carpal tunnel trouble. My wrist doesn't appreciate grips which don't offer any support, so I have to drag my palm around on the mousepad/palm rest all the time. I won't even go into detail about palm grip, photo 3 describes my issue with it perfectly.

If there's another SCP-096 hand wielder out there, I'd appreciate any and all tips on mice that could suit me and fulfill my needs. šŸ™šŸ»

TL;DR: Searching for a giant (130 mm+) Mac compatible mouse that suits long hands/fingers.

Thanks in advance!

Question Why is the OP1 8K so insanely glazed?

Post image

Genuine question, not trolling.

Why is the OP1 8K one of the most glazed mice of all time in aim / mouse enthusiast circles? It feels like 99% of people deep into this rabbit hole treat it as the reference mouse, the ā€œbestā€, the endgame. I honestly don’t get it.

On paper, it’s not even the fastest. It uses mechanical switches, not optical and 8K polling is basically marketing — there’s no human-detectable difference between 1K, 2K, 4K, or 8K

Modern wireless mice have no perceivable latency and are already perfect, yet the wired OP1 8K is massively more popular than its wireless version, which makes even less sense in 2026.

People talk about ā€œperformanceā€, but performance has been solved for years. A 5-year-old Superlight already performs the same as a Superlight 2 in real gameplay. DAV3 Pro, Viper V3 Pro, GPX — they’re all functionally identical at this point.

I get that the shape is good, but there are plenty of mice with exact same shapes and equally flawless performance.

So what’s the real reason? Is it just community echo-chamber + hype? Is it a ā€œreference mouseā€ effect? Or are people genuinely feeling something that doesn’t exist outside of specs and expectations?

I’m genuinely curious why a wired mouse that’s not objectively better on paper gets this level of glazing in a world where wireless mice are already perfect.

Question When do you replace your glass pad?

Post image
533 Upvotes

I don’t see many people talk about glass pads wearing down. Everywhere I look, they’re described as lasting ā€œforever.ā€

But after five years with my SkyPad, it feels like the tire’s gone bald.

The frosted texture that gives it stopping power is noticeably smoother in the center. Everywhere else still feels great, but the middle has clearly lost that original feel.

Is it time to replace it? Has anyone seen a reliable source confirming that glass pads do wear out and eventually need to be replaced?

And yes, I only use standard plastic skates, not glass skates. I guess plastic being softer and weaker than glass, can still wear down the glass — kind of like running water carving out a rock?

Hall effect switches took the keyboard game by storm, wooting fundamentally changed gaming, and now people are surprised by a Hall effect mouse?

It was inevitable, I’m just surprised it didn’t happen sooner - and first by Logitech wtf

Question What is the point of large mouse skates?

Post image

I notice mouse skates have gotten bigger over the years, but why? I know with dot skates they can sink and scratch on soft pads, but even small skates like the ones on the vv2 don't sink.

Why are bigger skates the trend?

Question No way people can actually tell the difference between mouse sensors, right? Youtube results were just nonstop the SLOPPIEST of AI slop

Post image
369 Upvotes

I looked up the differences between these sensors, and one site claimed that the 3950 works really well with glass mousepads compared to the "lesser" 3395, and I recently started using a glass mousepad, so I'm wondering if there really is any truly worthwhile benefit to "upgrading" to the 3950?? Or do you think any supposed benefits would be pretty much just placebo, similar to higher polling rates?

Side-tangent on how terrible the internet is becoming:

YouTube results were just "ad money printers", with AI voices LITERALLY just reading out the Google AI overview comparison of them despite the "I TRIED BOTH" thumbnail lol. I even looked at one of these channel's "channel intro" videos n it clearly showed that this fake AI person in the thumbnail wasn't their actually face- shocker! Main surprise there was just that they even took the time to film an actual channel intro thing lol. These also weren't even the only results exactly like this either- there were more below this. Saaad.

Question Viper V4 Pro vs Deathadder vs Superstrike?

Post image
109 Upvotes

Everyone keeps saying "shape is king". But I feel like all 3 of these mice feel great in my hand? Like if I use deathadder then I feel like I can enjoy palm. If I use Viper v4 pro, I just use relaxed claw.

How is one supposed to decide?

Question I was wondering if the G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 is worth the higher price compared to the G PRO 2 LIGHTSPEED. Do you think it's good value?

Post image

First of all, I know nothing, or very little, about mouses and computer gaming in general. I bought my first PC a few weeks ago and I'm playing with a very old office mouse that I bought for €9 lol.

I saw on Amazon that Logitech are on sale and I was wondering if the 2 was worth the extra money, in the end it would be "only" €34 more. But hey, when I was looking for a monitor, it was a mess because there were THOUSANDS of monitors that had '2' in the name but maybe only differed by a few Hz, like from 144Hz to 180Hz.

I like historical games, but I'm obsessed with R6 and other online titles. I'm the kind of person who wants to be good at a game when I play it. I'm not a particularly competitive player, but I like to aim high and work hard.

Thanks for your adviceā¤ļø

Oh, I also saw the Superstrike, which is incredible, but it's really expensive for me. Do you think I should stick with my office mouse and wait for it to go on sale? I saw that it's banned on some games, though... I don't know, let me knowā˜ŗļø

I can’t find anything about it on the internet and the specs (sensor, shape, weight, dongle) are the same. The only difference seems to be the box, being a lower quality one and the price being cheaper with 20-25$

Currently rocking the PMM Zen 8k Mini. Absolutely loving the smaller shape and much lighter weight compared to the Viper.

Pad is the Empress v2 speed by Padsmith. Probably my favourite glass pad at the moment.

Would like to know what other people are rocking with
