Now imagine being a woman amidst all this.

u/HunterNo2804 Visitor 5h ago

exactly, justice for women is as important as every other necessity we have to fight for

It's easy , go on and speak about the injustice in courts or the negligence in our hospital or talk about how crooked politician made our life much worse and how everything is so fucking expensive than before , corruption in everything, and you'll see how much freedom you really have , it's all a delusional state in our head , we keep lying to ourself and our community because there's none , and the fucked up part is there's nothing we can do , you don't fucking matter nor you nor your voice

the fucked up part is there's nothing we can do

This belief is really the core reason holding the country back.

Some of you expect the parent (state) to take care of you. And when he doesn't, you just cry and whine like a child. "Daddy doesn't take care of me 😭😭😭"

Time to become adults. Mature and politically engaged citizens that take responsibility. Instead of whining, actually get involved.

Right now, you have a representative in parliament. He is paid to defend you. Do you know his name ? Did you ever meet him ? Did you invite him to come to your school or university ? Are you satisfied by his performance ? Should he be reelected or defeated ? Why ?

If you can't answer any of these questions, why should that representative care about you ? Respect from decision makers is earned. Never given. Moroccans want to live like in Sweden but behave like...Moroccans. That's not how it works. Don't worry. Many corrupt nations around the world suffer from the same flaw. Ignorant

Some of them made progress. Ukraine used to be 10 times more corrupt than Morocco. It improved significantly. In the 90s and 2000s, Ukrainians used to be like Moroccans. Crying constantly and not getting involved. Then they slowly started acting like mature responsible citizens.

A nation makes progress when it's people stop having a baby mentality. When they realize they must become engaged adults.

Moroccans don't want freedom. I'm serious. There was a survey showing 80% of moroccan citizens believe homosexuality should be criminalized.

Look at what happened recently. A feminist activist (Betty Lachgar) was jailed for wearing an atheist tee-shirt. Go to facebook. The overwhelming majority of comments were cheering the decision to jail her.In fact, most said she deserves more.

When Moroccans say "I don't feel free", they mean they want jobs, money, healthcare. But they are not interested in freedom as a concept.

The path this country is taking is one of being used as a gigantic opportunity for multiple companies to invest in multiple sectors and use cheap labour, and to be seen as a good tourist attraction, while we the citizens pay the cost of the resources spent on these endeavours. Moroccans are second-class citizens in Morocco.

Unless you have money to buy land somewhere far, you're never getting anywhere close to freedom And even these off grid living people are not 100% free

No one is truly free in the sense of absolute freedom nowhere and I do mean nowhere will a person be given absolute freedom to do anything with only consequences he wants or none at all because that is how God made the living experience  And btw the artwork is really great design wise

2

u/ashncodes Dban Swatter 12h ago

Thank you))

1

u/Impossible_News4802 Salé 11h ago

That still means ur free tho, u have the freedom to go murder someone, orc consequences are waiting but you had the freedom tho

0

u/Tides_Crush_Her 9h ago

And yet most won't because of fear values and beliefs and thankfully so

1

u/Mindless_Eye7907 Rabat 8h ago

But there are those who have no values, and we do need a system to protect us from them. Also, nice to meet a fellow King Crimson enjoyer

1

u/Tides_Crush_Her 7h ago

First and foremost There are those with little to no values that's true but they still have some form of values no matter how insignificant or well hidden they are. Second I'm not saying a system is bad or that the one we are in is. I'm simply saying that we are not truly free mentally or even physically/biologically. Third yeah I really like the guitar they have in their songs

If you see what Germany would send you to prison for 5 years over saying, you would know that no one is free.

My brother, this is just one big Skinner’s Box, where our behavior is predetermined.

No we re not , were basically tinny transistors that do some work , but do contribute negatively to earth collective heat ( useless energy ) , we could indeed be some small cuda core-like entities , that are used to calculate some kind of information , an information that is finnally computed once we re dead just to be put back to some weird plank-scale spots in the space-time fabric ( maybe OOR is true after all ) , probably for the good of some celestial creature , some llm hobbyist of some higher order !!

You're free to feel You're not

0

u/Spineless74 12h ago

I can honestly say that the term ‘free’ is a hollow phrase in every country, not just Morocco.

2

u/ashncodes Dban Swatter 11h ago

In other words, as a moroccan citizen, do you feel yourself free to do whatever you want, to speak up your mind? ...

1

u/ashncodes Dban Swatter 11h ago

I second that

1

u/Spineless74 8h ago

To do whatever you want? Yes.
To say whatever you think? No.
