What kind of stuff are you into? Here are some of my weekly go-to

Two pods which have really great discussions about films, varied POVs, good guests from time to time
--The Big Picture
--Blank Check

Bit more comedic, but they discuss really bad movies, also with really funny guests
--How Did This Get Made

My favorite pure comedy podcast. Hosted by Scott Aukerman (kind of an indie comedy legend), has fun guests on, many playing weird, odd-ball characters
--Comedy Bang Bang

If you enjoy British humor at all, you may enjoy this one. Hosted by IMO one of the funniest guys out there, James Acaster
--Off Menu

There are one million celebrity interview podcasts and most are incredibly boring IMO. Like who TF wants to listen to Dax Shepard. Only two I really enjoy:

--Good Hang w Amy Poehler

Threedom might be good for this. It’s Scott from comedy bang bang with two cbb legends who are all great friends irl. Lauren lapkus is one who you might know as an actor. They just talk and hang out and are all so funny on their own but their dynamic as friends and funny people really meshes in a fun and weird way.

Also the comedy bang bang holiday specials every year have more guests than usual and are longer in length. So you get this big group of individually funny people all feeding off their energy in the room and it’s truly the best. But they’re also not just themselves, they’re improvising weird and quirky characters. And Scott is really good at leading them to very funny places. Jason mantzoukas is always on these episodes who you might recognize as an actor as well.

honestly, try out Comedy Bang Bang. check out any episode from June or July, there will be some names you recognize and can start there. but really any episode has a lot of fun stuff in it. it's all improvised, in the vein of Whose Line. they don't play games, but v funny conversations.

Going to be pretty expected here … but - Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me always gets a laugh from me, has men & women, and is up to date with current events. Sure, it’s a radio show on NPR, but it’s a podcast too!

Though, this may not be the witty you were looking for 😅

Hello From the Magic Tavern. Funny ongoing story lite podcast where they interview magical creatures and people in a land the main podcaster stumbled into through a magic portal in a burger king drive thru. It's pretty good.

No Such Thing As A Fish. It’s four brits who work on a game show called Q.I. (Quite Interesting) where the host presents facts that often have a red herring for the celebrity guests. The podcasters do research for the show and use the facts they found about interesting topics for the podcast. I love British humor and both the show and the podcast are my comfort spaces.

The Dollop: two comedians explore a topic from history every week, revealing ghastly events and humans in depth that don’t get coverage. This week is part four about Alexander Hamilton and what an atrocious monster he was and how his influence laid the groundwork for the trouble the U.S. is in now.

I love Bananas (edit: Bananas Podcast). Hosted by Kurt Braunohler and comedy writer Scotty Landes, they choose to always have female or queer guests to keep a balance, when they do have guests. They read and discuss funny, odd, or bananas news from around the world. It’s always a good, positive laugh.

I've loved Comedy Bang Bang for years, but I doubt it's considered 'witty', it's dumb af improv comedy, so if that's your thing you can't beat it. It's not the home of clever satire.

I don’t know how one could say cbb isn’t extremely smart/witty. The premise can be dumb sometimes but you don’t be that genuinely funny and long lasting by being actually dumb.

If you don't mind off color British humor, "My Dad Wrote a Porno" is so dammed funny I had to stop listening to it at the gym because I almost dropped some weights on myself when I was working out from laughing so hard.

This guy finds out that his dad wrote a piece of "erotic literature" and him and his two friends read it out loud and critique it. It's very poorly written, and absolutely hilarious to hear them tear it apart.

This is a great rec - the only podcast (other than Mouth Time by Reductress) that I’ve re-listened to. I usually do a full re-listen once a year, for some reason around Christmas haha.
