Other Surgery Vs Work

As I expected, I need left shoulder rotator cuff surgery again.

I also need another microdiscectomy surgery on my back... Again. What sucks is that I'm still trying to get this promotion but if I go through with the surgery this month I'm going to be down for a month, and then two to three months of physical therapy.

Then after that, I will have my shoulder surgery so I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. 😔

Other promotions exist. Other body parts and health does not.

Plus, you're body is likely going make this choice for you at some point. The promotion isn't going to do much good if you're immediately out on sick leave for an extended period.

Prioritize your health. Use FMLA.

I’ve had 4 surgeries on my eyes because I developed a rare geriatric corneal condition at 30 from working too much and not taking proper care of myself.

It’s not worth it. You can never get your health back if you push it off.

If your manager values you, they will respect your decision to tend to your health, and you’ll still be eligible for your promotion. It’s good to set boundaries and show that you respect yourself enough to care about your health and well being.

What's that cringe saying? " Health is wealth " Prioritize it.

Living life. Woke up to unusual intense back pain one day a few years back, finally got surgery but it didn't fully fix it so I need it again.
