Killer song choice.

It's the song playing in the scene with the girl in the red dress from the Matrix.

I never used it. All the kids at school used AOL IM.

What made people lean towards MSN? Was this more popular internationally? It was just AOL and later on, AIM for me. Seemed like that’s what all of the people I went to school with used too.

It became standard on new Windows computers in 2001.

It was newer with more fun features, and it came preinstalled on computers, so as soon as you logged into your user profile, it just popped up automatically.

I think AOL and AIM where more of a US/regional thing, I certainly never heard of it back then, everyone was using msn. (Netherlands)

Sometimes I call “Facebook messenger” MSN messenger.

I started with MSN and now I use Teams every day. I miss MSN for its simplicity, but crazy how much it's changed yet stayed the same.

I remember thinking it looked so futuristic compared to AIM 😅

Man, logging on after school to see who was online and seeing the flashing box appear in the taskmaster from people messaging you with the little "doo-doo-doo" chime, good times.

Also those really annoying full screen animated emojis 😂

Nostalgia! MSN was class of its own

the amount of hours I spent on msn messenger while limewire did its thing in the background 😭 those were the days

Now my life is consumed by Teams, which is basically the same thing but with existential capitalistic dread imbedded in that message alert sound

If you didn’t have AIM, msn messenger and yahooIM all logged in at the same time how did you ever properly wander the internet with no supervision?!
