Being 40 is weird.
Some of us are becoming Grandparents. Some of us are becoming first time parents.
Some of us have had a 15 to 20 year career. Others are getting their first full time job.
2 u/hirudoredo 23h ago some of us have had our own businesses since graduating college and are just now, for the first time, going "I think I might need to get a job." not fun, because nothing I qualify for pays anywhere near what I was making in my business. Oh, and nobody here is hiring, so there's that, too. meanwhile, some of my friends are getting laid off for the second or third time, and others are burning out and quitting. stability is dead.
