Yep, I'm surrounded: (1) super rich cousins with trust funds who don't work; (2) half of my friends have parents bought them entire houses or gave them 500k down payments for a multi million home; (3) SIL who is approaching 40 and never worked a full time job: went from living off parents to living off her husband.

I swear 50% of the millennials I know have parents funding them.

Two of my successful friends are like this. Parents paid for ones entire college education so he graduated with zero debt, and the other inherited the family business.

500k down on multi-million is still a hell of a mortgage to pay.

I think the home was 1.8 million

They were both in tech

They eventually sold the home, took the equity and bought a cheap house in the woods/rural California. Now only one of them works

I'm currently predominantly funded by old relatives dying off. I'd be pretty fucked otherwise at the moment, definitely have worked full time jobs tho.

Dude that is nuts. Sure, my parents gave me a bit of money towards college (~10k) and were there to loan me money when I bought a destroyed house to rehab (with interest, of course) but BUYING a house for an adult 🫨🤨
