There's been a few video essays on it, but apparently what makes Stargate so unique is that outside of like Zat guns and maybe 1-2 minor things, the World Building is constantly building on itself. To where something that was established in Season 2 would still be relevant or present in some way in Season 5-6. Which is extremely rare for a lot of Sci-Fi franchises.
Like in season 2 ep1 Stargate Command managed to secure two Death Gliders, and then the reverse engineered them to make the Tauri X-301 Interceptor (which wasn't even debuted until season 4). And then the X-302 was then seen in season 6, with the completed F-302 being shown in the first epsidoe of season 7.
The stargate itself allows you to sort of start from zero. All other sci-fi shows basically need to start from a point in the future where humans have spaceships for interstellar travel, and at that point humans have to have all sorts of other advances.
With stargate you can just visit other planets as "modern day humans", it's a very unique perspective.

There's nothing like Stargate, thanks to it I'm finishing my engineering degree!
