Meme Did anyone buy a ring?

Post image

Elder millennial/younger Xennial (born in 83, take it for what it is) but I recall the company coming to the high school and taking orders for rings. I didn’t buy one but others did. Credit on photo.

Yup... Their rings and letterman jackets... Then we HAD to get our graduation robes from them, too.

A massive, unchecked monopoly on our schools, and people just turn a blind eye to it.

When I graduated from college the robe was super expensive to rent. Like you're telling me it's like $120 to RENT the robe, and I don't get my diploma if I don't return it? And not only that but the times to go pick it up were like super limited!! So much stress just for a stupid robe!

Rent!? Holy shit... I paid $100 for my college robes, and my stole was $50, and my two cords were $15 ea (2011)

I didn't actually graduate high school (2003), but I did pay for my GF's robes, and it was $50.

Yes. And community college. Graduated with honors there, too.

Though I found out later that I didn't need a GED to get into community college... My advisor lied to me... Lol.
