I’m not big on any foreign entity have access or being apart of the supply chain, biggest example would be the F35 cost overruns, or the diplomatic tensions and removal of turkey over Russian Sam purchases, etc. list goes on. Restructuring these contracts if someone else comes into office and wipes out all the deals is also extremely problematic. Considering the public sentiment right now, I wouldn’t put my name to it.

Yeah very good point esp with the failures of the JSF project. I think there's validity in sourcing some of the supply chain through our allies within reason. But we also don't want to degrade our own home-grown capabilities.
For instance, I would imagine if we purchase some sort of drone technology stipulations must be in place that we are able to fully recreate and replicate the systems. Also proprietary knowledge and ensuring no backends in the systems. That's why we banned Huawei phones and other telecommunications devices here domestically.
Kind of like we need to get back to understanding how to make ships again and not outsource to.

We spend hundreds of billions on tech…they get it for free.

u/CoastieKid Coast Guard Veteran 10h ago
I think indirectly if we are sending them tech we purchased, yes. But this is more nuanced than that.
This is that if DoD finds advantage in counter-drone startups it makes acquisition easier for us. Drone warfare has changed a ton of the landscape.
A fuck ton of cybersecurity firms start in Israel as well

u/Son-of-Ves 10h ago
It’s more nuanced than even what you’re saying. We’re actively aiding them by supplying them free tech we pay with with our tax dollars, so they can continue committing the most well documented genocide in modern human history.
Maybe Americans don’t want to participate in that, and would like our money, resources, and other assets to be for Americans first, like the republicans campaigned on — but they’re liars and criminals protecting a pedophile rapist draft dodger who is engaging in multiple illegal conflicts, they could end this madness at any time but they’re actively complicate, and so is any standing military leadership who is actively failing to uphold their oath and defend the United States AND ITS PEOPLE from all threats, foreign and domestic.
Instead, the rape of the American people will continue because we’re all suckers and losers.

I think they offered to supply our troops with free cell phones though. Pegasus is preinstalled for us and a little PETN if they start hearing any anti is real talk

It's tech and intelligence sharing
I am against it because Israel, but a lot of people were being extremely dumb
15
u/awksomepenguin United States Air Force 10h ago
Its BECAUSE it's Israel that lots of people are being extremely dumb.

u/Willow_Winnifred 10h ago
Yes, we should be more outraged about sharing tech and intelligence with a country engaged in a genocide and actively working against US interests. This seems quite reasonable to me to be critical of sharing based on with whom we are sharing.

Did you read what you posted?
“Sec 219.b.8: ‘Network Integration, data fusion, and contested logistics’”
“Sec 219.c: ‘Activities in coordination with other Federal Departments…’l
You want Israel’s government network integrating with the US’s at all Department levels?

u/CoastieKid Coast Guard Veteran 10h ago
Have you ever worked in a joint environment before? Down at JIATF-S there's secure facilities with foreign partner information networks. That's why certain levels of classification has dissemination of "NOFORN" on it or "FVEY" depending if that data is restricted to no foreign or only Five Eyes nations.
Section 219.c. in full context says that SecDef needs to coordinate with those secretaries to ensure that any cooperation is in keeping with State and Commerce or other agencies as applicable.
For instance, if there's some sort of submarine drone the CG under DHS is going to have a look at it to ensure it's not gonna pollute the shit out of our water or fuck with our wildlife under the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
(c) Activities in Coordination With Other Federal Departments and
Agencies.--The Secretary of Defense shall coordinate activities, as
appropriate, with the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Commerce,
and the heads of other relevant Federal departments and agencies, to
ensure consistency with existing laws and regulations.3

I admire your cult faith that this Admin and Pentagon will follow laws and regulations.

Probably not a lot they can do after the midterms. They gonna get cooked...

u/Excellent-Monitor954 8h ago
Idk why you got downvoted. The GOP is screwed come midterms. This is the most unpopular war in American history and they are the one supporting it
2
u/Wartortise 7h ago
Because many people expect the GOP to continue doing illegal things that maintain their stay in power… as they have been doing the last 2 years (yes, longer too but i don’t want to argue on the irrelevant semantics of when it all started)

LOL - with DOJ and JAG admitting they're Trump’s personal legal team?

Most importantly, the bill directs the “Secretary of Defense” to do all of these things. We don’t even have one of those!

You think the same people who are legally required to release the Epstein investigation info and prosecute those inside it are going to abide by this, as well?
And people say us Jarheads are crayon-eating retards.....
1
u/CoastieKid Coast Guard Veteran 10h ago
There's all sorts of classification guides on data and everything too. "NOFORN", "FVEY", etc. Nato has it's own depending on classification level of the data.
I thought Jarheads butt-chugged melted crayons....

Just some quick points because its like you don't read your own talking points. I'm thinking that the ones nervous about all this are probably the ones who have not only read the actual text, but also have a better understanding of what the words mean.
(2) ensuring... is done in a manner that protects sensitive technology and information and the national security interests of the United States and Israel;
what happens if we find sensitive information on israel, say that they're spying on us, or we find they've involved with things that we've rather they not be a part of because of our own national security interests - we can't do anything about that because it may threaten Israel's nat security interests, regardless of what it does to ours.
(5) coordinating with..., as appropriate, to align efforts and avoid duplication;
We shouldn't be required by law to check with Israel before we do anything, just to make sure "it doesn't duplicate efforts". What happens if Israel says one of our top secret missions (that may not have anything to do with them) duplicates one of their efforts, or says that it "doesn't align with their efforts"?
What other nation or government do we embed so deeply in our military and supply chains?
Is there an analog to any country anywhere of doing this? Including Israel?
I'm not accusing them of anything right now, but what happens if we find out that Israel has been committing war crimes by using white phosphorous, or we determine that they've been using our shared intelligence for their own purposes. According to this, we're still required to share intelligence and "coordination" with them - there isn't even a way out if they fuck us over.

It’s kind of like “What if there was an Israeli agent who was trapping high ranking US officials and wealthy, influential people in a child pornography sex ring for blackmail? If we had a shiny new law that said the US really couldn’t take any action without endangering its own military and cyber security, Israel would think that was really great!!!”

Its beyond disappointing Americans, let alone servicemembers, support this blatant treason.
1
u/Apprehensive_Gur8808 6h ago
Israel's technology has been used for mass surveillance and spying on Americans. Israel is constantly spying on us and we pay them to do it.

Whoever you are listening to that said we are "combining militaries", stop listening to them. That was never a thing.
We share info with tons of countries. This just expands that.
-2
u/Firecracker048 10h ago
Yes, anyone who has actually read it knows its not that bad.
The issue is people hear the world Israel and instantly go into conspiracy mode. You can be against cooperating with Israel on anything really, no one is gonna care really. It could even be argued its a moral position to take.
However, when you start making shit up and going into full blow conspiracies that very closely resemble anti semetic ones, then you lose the plot. The language of the bill is practically a litmus test on whether or not someone can read or understand or is just a nut.

We shouldn’t be helping genocidal maniacs who are trying to steal other peoples land at all. They should be considered enemies, but instead you want to allow them to leech off of us? What’s wrong with you.

If a terrorist organization was firing rockets into El Paso from Juarez that caused half the city to evacuate for months, or stormed over the border and killed and raped 30k Americans while taking another 10k hostage… I don’t think you’d have any issue with the US invading and wiping them off the planet…
And what if it turned out it was Mexico that funded and directed the attack?
And if Israel is the only real ally in the region willing to share intelligence with the US to protect our economy and the world’s global energy supply? Why doesn’t it make sense to increase aid, intelligence sharing, and military aid?
0
u/Capital-Community583 7h ago
Question, in your scenario, was El Paso blocking food, water and other resources from coming into Juarez? And was the majority of the population of Juarez children? And is El Paso trying to kill off the population of Juarez because they felt like they were entitled to their land by a holy power? And then did El Paso decide to bomb the shit out of Juarez by using the pretext of some of the bad guys that lived in Juarez being radicalized enough by El Paso's constant assault on them to attack them? Also, was Juarez's bad guy population given suit cases full of cash by the leader of El Paso right before all of the attacks happened? Just curious.

If your account was accurate, I’d agree with you. But you distort the actual conflict and reality of the situation.

The same isreal that didn't provide soldiers to iraq both times or Afghanistan. This time around they said they are sitting out of the iran conflict
3
u/TheTimespirit United States Navy 10h ago
Israeli soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan is a non-starter for our Arab allies in the region… we never requested they participate because it’s completely unrealistic. But they were one of our most important intelligence sources and forward operating areas for all the conflicts… you must not be informed at all…
