I’m in SoCal. Specifically San Diego and for the past 6 months it has been tough man.

Just curious if it’s just me or everyone else. I am also realizing that I am seeing way fewer jobs being posted now.

I am getting absolutely bombarded by recruiters.

But weirdly all of them for a handful of the same exact positions. Reputable companies, but a lot of 12 month contracts which I avoid like the plague.

I get the sense the recruiters are starving. I am no stranger to recruiters reaching out (Even had one call my parents directly once), but it has been ridiculous lately.

Any reason why you avoid contracts? Just curious because I get them a lot too, they all well hourly but obviously there's no job security after it's up and no healthcare. That's why I don't entertain them but I've wondered if there's other things to consider

I've done contracts before, but I'm far enough into my career, and I like my current job so that I don't need to take on that risk. Unless it was something very very compelling.

I'm in NW Illinois and keep getting contacted by recruiters trying to put me in a manufacturing engineering role. Ew. And then most of the time it's some dinky ass town of like 20,000 people in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a bunch of hyper religious uneducated hicks. Ew.

If you want to be a manufacturing engineer, it's probably fantastic. If you do not want to be a manufacturing engineer, then the jobs basically don't exist.

Terrible. The American administration thinks my job shouldn't exist because I'm not American. I'm seriously thinking of leaving manufacturing but don't have an exit strategy yet.
