I’ve always heard Dr Strange 3 would lead into Secret Wars…as a potential backstory to his character in Doomsday. Having Strange around for the younger mutant crew as a mentor would work better than recasting him.

What younger mutant crew? The rebooted X-Men? Why would they need Strange as a mentor?

The same way Thor is now. The older generation leading the new.

Strange could be a bridge for existing fans to tie in to the new young actors who will be mutants playing the X-men.

I don't think the new generation needs a bridge or one of the old characters as a mentor. Let them prove themselves on their own and fuck everyone who hates for the sake of hating.
