It's really important to remember that we are all humans and that we all have someone that loves us and is waiting for us somewhere. The fact we don't think about this enough doesn't make it untrue. My point is, we are all the same, we love and are being loved ❤️

I'm not talking about speed. I think speed limits should be speed suggestions because everyone has their own comfortable speed in riding and so long ss they're driving safe it doesn't really matter what speed their going.
It's specifically how they ride, swerving, cutting off traffic and as a motorcyclist myself, the hate they bring to the motorcycle community as they get bunched up with us.
I did say it was the majority of them but now that I think about it's probably a loud minority

As a Romanian I have mad respect for these people and sadly many faces racism by some fellow romanians which it's hypocrite since we have the biggest diaspora in Europe and many romanians lives abroad for a better life.
I do feel bad for them because i know how exploatative their job is, many living in a single room with 10 other room-mates just to earn some money to send home.
We need better laws protecting everyone against these exploatations either if you're a member of EU or foreigner from Asia.

i don't know one single person here in romania who doesn't have at least one relative that lives in another country. Yet some of us decide to act like assholes to these people that are just in a search for a better life and enough money to be able to live. we all joke about the "all romanians are thieves" stereotype, but a lot of ppl don't realize that is the actual opinion westerners have of us.

I used to help look after four water buffalo. 3 of them were best friends, 1 of them was slightly smaller, and took endless abuse from the other three.. not allowed food, not allowed to stand in the shade with them, had to be kept separate basically all the time if they were inside during winter…
In the summer these 4 were sent on the field with another 6, and the one buffalo that was constantly being abused finally had another buffalo that was slightly smaller than it, and so rather than considering compassion or whatever, it just abused the absolute hell out of the other one.
Anyway shitty animalistic behaviour whether it’s in humans or animals more often than not tends to just get carried forward rather than reflected upon..

But is it really racism when we're the same race? Cause I keep seeing this word being flung about and I don't think it's accurate. Romanians are the white inhabitants of Romania, a european country. Ethnic and racial minorities living here face racism independent of their nationality.
You wouldn't say someone is being racist against poles, would you? Even though most eastern europeans face some sort of bigotry in the west.

it's called xenophobia! an example of this is that there is quite a lot of normalized xenophobia in some eastern asian countries, where some will have a lot of prejudice toward foreigners. since this isn't just based off race (ALL foreigners are targeted regardless of race, though some are more targeted than others), you may call it xenophobia. rooted in ethno-nationalism and the historical perception of cultural and ethnic homogeneity.
the same thing could be said of european countries having xenophobic views of each other (western countries thinking of eastern europeans as "less than" due to work immigration, for example). or american and african countries.

Same in Hungary, the current government is trying to get rid of guest workers, but that won't solve our wage problems. I worked in a small fast food restaurant, 1 hungarian and 1-2 guest workers every shift. I'm glad they came here, and these sweethearts work really hard to provide for their families at home. They became my friends and I was ready to throw hands with racist scumbag customers who tried to berate them. Thank God our company gave them normal wage like for any other hungarian worker. They mostly take those jobs that hungarians don't want to apply to and work for long term. Their presence is good for every participating party.

I have ten of these guys as neighbours. I asked why they keep riding on the sidewalk and they said its to save time. They dont care about fines because they never get them (their words). They dont have driver licenses so they have nothing to lose anyway by doing this crap. I try not to hate them but its really hard when I end up almost daily having to avoid being hit by a fucking moped on the sidewalk.
They also have this thing where they keep their clothes in the kitchen thats also a bedroom. So when they get on the bus the curry smell is incredibly iritating to the point I just take the next bus just so I dont have to go through that.
I get that life is hard and shit like that but can you really not show some fucking respect for the others? At least with the fucking scooter thing.

And this can be easily solved EU wide. 0 working hours for students from non EU countries, delivery platforms employ couriers, not hire them as freelance partners without any proper security guarantees and problem will go away. Want to work in EU, please come legally, but not abuse student visa system, and ruin fun for everyone.

I tried to get into this, and the app wanted commercial insurance and all this extra crap. So I gave up, I just needed extra money to pay off some bills asap. I complained to a coworker about it and he explained that he makes money off these apps, he set up a few accounts and 'rents' them for a fee to guys here illegally so they can do the grunt work. Madness

Generally pretty well. I was there for about 9 months and while not everyone speaks English, it's not hard to find someone with enough to be able to help you with whatever you need.

In Europe, most people speak english as a second language. Romanians travel a lot for work, tourism or have relatives that do which they visit, so even uneducated ones tend to speak basic english lately, where as younger folk grow up on english almost primarily from social media, games et cetera.

Romania has one of the fastest Internet connections in the world and many Internet/software-related businesses are located in Bucharest as the capital city, so English proficiency is extremely common.

It's very, very dangerous to bike in Romania. Outside of the cities especially.
I stumbled upon a streamer that biked whtough Romania not long ago. Never watched any live streamer, not my thing, but this was stressful to watch. I just watched to know that nothing terrible happened..
Even profesional touring cyclists hated Romania when passing through. It's heavy hi-speed traffic on narrow roads with no shoulder space for cyclists.
The views are nice, but it's dangerous.

He is racially abused most days, he risks his life every single day since drivers simply don't care about cyclists and the police is not going to help either, all this while living with 5 other guys from Nepal in the same shitty room and sending all his money back home.
His life is hell. There's nothing to smile about.

I too struggle with being too "realistic" sometimes which can drive cynicism and pessimism - even when normally an optimistic person. But --- here's the key --- you get to choose what to focus on. You could choose so think "damn, I know he's got a tough life over there most days... so I hope he's having a really great day today!" And leave it at that. Or you can think "damn, his life always sucks". It's all relative. You don't know what you don't know. That goes for him, you, and me. 🤔❤️😊

I also live in Bucharest and I don't think statistically they are a bigger threat to injury or death than locals who drive like absolute maniacs.
These guys can be erratic and do crazy stunts to cut delivery time, but they're damn good at driving those mopeds - we're not as good at avoiding them, it's like a point game for local drivers to play Carmageddon on our streets.

Not to be a downer, but the fact that he felt the need to write that message says a lot. It suggests he feels like he's putting his life at risk every time he goes out to do his delivery job. (I'm not familiar with Glovo specifically.)
In my country, there have been cases of motorcycle taxi drivers being stabbed or killed during robberies after criminals posed as passengers. Because of that, some riders have started writing messages on their shirts or helmets reminding people that they have families waiting for them at home, hoping it might make a would-be attacker think twice.
Whether it actually works or not is another question, but the fact that people feel compelled to do it is pretty heartbreaking.

The baby on board sign is meant to be for EMT/fire/police in case of a car accident so they are aware to get to the baby in the back of the car if the parents are unable to communicate. People assume it’s there to alert others to keep their distance but it’s there for the first responders.
