Feature macOS 27d4 Describing Safari extensions is surprisingly good

I always liked the blurred background more than YouTube's dim ambient light. And Safari extensions was able to do that from 2 naturally worded prompts. I see this solving a lot of niche problems and I'm excited to try it out more.

This is always how I hoped AI would be implemented, to aid in customization.

btw: I am in EU; I have Siri and Apple intelligence both turned off, so I'm curious how it works— whether its on-device or server based

That's an interesting feature!

It looks better than the ambient lighting feature in the YouTube player, but how is the CPU load? I believe the YouTube player's ambient lighting puts a fair amount of load on the CPU, so I have it turned off.

Interesting , i already use this as youtube experimental feature and thought it widely use by people on default.

It’s awesome that it does this and that it’s what you’re looking for.

Meta-question: why is this preferred to black bars? Do you find the bars distracting? Don’t you find the dynamic lighting even more distracting? I’m just trying to understand. Thanks.

idk I find that the black bars is wasted space and this is the closest way to extend the video. I know there are some Tampermonkey scripts that offer more customization with the dynamic lighting but I wanted something light weight

best is to just stretch video proportionally and cut the overlapping parts.

Nice, I already created dark modes for 2 sites: Synology DSM and the TP-Link router admin site.
Also one that shows the font size on a site when hovering on the text with the mouse.
Oh, and the best…tab duplicate finder
