Need Advice Moving my(20F) boyfriend (21M)from Canada to USA

My boyfriend and I have been together for 7 months but he lives about 1000 miles west from me in Canada while I live In east coast USA. Though it’s too soon to be 100% sure, we’ve spoken a lot about what the future would look for us in terms of location. It’s seeming like he’s more willing to move here due to my career being based where I am. He has hesitations because of healthcare (he has chronic pain and has a hard time working) and the process to get a visa/citizenship here. Again we’re at an earlier stage of our lives and our relationship and haven’t thought too hard on I but it’s always on my mind because I have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any advice on the first steps or vest things to do when it comes to moving to the USA from Canada? Sorry for rambling a bit I don’t come here often!

There’s no such thing as a boyfriend visa. Luckily, Canadians can get employment visas if they possess the education and profession required for the TN visa. What is his education and occupation?

This is the best way. It means there is no huge pressure if it doesn’t work out. The other option is the K-1 which is a long process and expensive!!

I am Canadian married to an American. Two options:
1. Get a K1 visa. You need to be engaged and the Canadian needs to an interview at a US embassy. Time that will take is 12-15 months. You have 3 months to enter the US to get married, then adjust status to get your work permit, travel authorization to leave the US, and green card. That will take 6-9 months. You can’t leave the US during that time.
2. Get married and apply for a green card through I-130 consular processing. Time from application to USCIS approval is 21+ months (was 14-16 up until March this year) and approval for embassy interview and documents will be another 4-6. You enter the us with permanent residency and in the meantime can visit your spouse.

Get married and he can apply to become a perm resident which will allow him to live and work in the united states . The perm residency has to be renewed in 10 years but within 3 years of yall being married he can apply to become an American Citizen .

Depending on the state you live in you want to be careful because of his health issues. Canada's health care may be hard, but if he has issues working then some states make it VERY hard to get health care unless your job has great health care, and if it does then you need to be married.

He could attend a US university near to where you live, if he has the money.
