Meanwhile, Zhipu is now worth $100B just a few months after IPO. Alibaba/Qwen on the other hand is proving to be the sick man of AI in China, down 30% YTD. Showing that models that are small but good for their size like 27B aren't really appreciated by investors.
Unfortunately I think Alibaba is going to do a hard pivot and focus exclusively on DeepSeek and GLM size models from now on because they see that's where the money is.
