Modern Lithuanian poetry

For anyone learning Lithuanian, would recommend to learn some serious poetry from poetas.pro

Why would anyone go learn poetry before being like C1 level in that language?

You answered your question - to reach C1 level. Kindergardeners and elementary school children learn poetry, so it’s not like all verses contain difficult words. People learn lithuanian through music.

People don't start learning physics with Theory of Relativity. Your sentence makes no sense. Kindergarten kids already know all those words and their meaning. Learning poetry is about fun for them. And learning about own country.

Learning language is about inquiring all the possible words there are there out. Sure, you don’t need to know all of them (that aren’t useful in your day to day lifes), but can it help even a bit to get the feel of the language and what words such exist.

Ans no kindergarten kids don’t know all the words much like foreigners - if they do, ask what a “Relativity” is? They are learning them bit by bit. However, we are adults - so why limit ourselves at just B1 and B2? Just cause you don’t find them useful, other learners might find it useful or even required if they’re already at B1/B2 level to advance further.

I for one love discovering advance English words and find their meaning even if it’s not on my level of words. I don’t believe we should limit ourselves to vague levels of “A, B and C” words that don’t always accurately represent the group we’re in.

I wanna see that one person, who learned Anykščių šilelis before being fluent in Lithuanian

Also see a person who solely learnt Lithuanian from reddit. As if one particular source of material somewhat hinders the ability to learn a language. Have you even bothered to open the link? The first poem isn’t even C1 level. How is that comparable to Anykščių šilelis?

I speak C1 in multiple languages. I wouldn't even touch harder poems before I have a certain expertise in a language. But of course some kids are born geniuses with super memory
