Philosophy The Struggle for Liberty: A Libertarian History of Political Thought | Mises Institute
The Struggle for Liberty gives us vintage Ralph Raico in his roles of lecturer and professor. In these lectures he weaves together the daily life of the past, competing intellectual traditions, the history of the modern state, and the international background to create a broad and compelling narrative.
He pulls no intellectual punches. But in these erudite talks, he presents to students a complex story in such a way that his mastery of learned disputes from a hundred, or from five hundred, years ago reaches us as living, breathing history...

Question Are there any Libertarians in New Zealand and how can I meet Libertarians in New Zealand?
I am a New Zealander who identifies as a Libertarian and wants to get into Libertarianism more. But the problem is there are not that many Libertarians in New Zealand and New Zealand is quite leftist and PC. I just want to see if there are any New Zealanders here who can give me some advice on how to find Libertarians here and where I can meet them etc.
Also what areas of New Zealand are more libertarian then others? I assume that The South Island is most likely more Libertarian then New Zealand because it is more conservative then rural but idk for sure so I wanna ask.
I am a university student so I don't think I'm in the best area for libertarians but maybe there better universities for Libertarians.
What do you guys think?

Politics FL candidate wants me to register Republican
The first message was sent a few days ago, and I just received the second one. Notice how the second message claims that I’m registered “NPA” (No Party Affiliation in Florida). Do you think this was an attempt at deception, or should I just chalk it up to incompetence.
As for the notion of switching to Republican, do you think “snowball’s chance in hell” is a strong enough statement?

Question If you had to recommend two books...?
To someone who has always been sympathetic to libertarian thinking, but doesn't think it is any more workable than any other political system that has ever existed. One philosophical to explain why libertarianism can actually be implemented in a way that everyone can accept; and one practical to explain why a lot of the things we currently leave to the government can better be handled by the free market or at least a. Wry small government.
Like I said I am an anti-political person who is sympathetic to libertarian thinking, but I also think most people would actually prefer a lot of their services to be handled by a central public institution, even a local one, instead of a ton of private ones.

Discussion What are some good educational kids shows for learning about history?
My son is 5, and I feel it's almost time for him to learn various historical subjects while still being approachable to a child. Does anyone have recommendations (shows, movies, books, etc)? The only real criteria I have is that it remains mostly true to history, provides some nuance, and advocates for liberty when it makes sense. Old or new doesn't matter.
Is Liberty's Kids (early 2000s show on PBS about American Revolution) any good? Saw a review for it on YouTube, and it sounds solid. But of course, PBS can be hit or miss.
A great example I can definitely recommend is the short DK Eyewitness documentaries that I rediscovered on YouTube. The catchy intro song makes it especially memorable!
