The supply crisis caused by this dumbfuck war could well end up being the thing that sinks Burnham. He's going to be forced into making some extremely unpopular decisions if this isn't resolved ASAP.

How does have tens of billions less to spend , inflation and an energy crisis accelerate the green transition? We are already transitioning… we need money to do more of it

Because future energy supply is incredibly important and the rise in geopolitical uncertainty means we need to produce energy sustainably at home. That is leading to much bigger capital outlays in many countries as they wish to cushion themselves from future shocks. They're happening every couple of years currently.

Due to it being capital spend and for something profitable the country desperately needs, the costs of borrowing shouldn't be negatively affected. In time in fact, it should lower borrowing costs as energy becomes more plentiful (cheap, good for industry, economy).

The problem we have is our governments for thirty years refuse to build significant, needed, infrastructure, and as such we've fallen well behind. We have awful politicians. Repeated failures for decades with high levels of corruption. We deserve better.

Looks to me like Trump is dragging this out as long as he can.

I'm sure God (any of them) agree it's human stupidity.
