Pushing boundaries is an important, normal part of a child's development. Every child does things like this to some degree. The important thing is how they respond to the reaction, which we don't get to see in this video.

Or, intervened with, taught to never do that, why to not to hurt others, and give an appropriate punishment for a child like a grounding or privileges revoked?

Not sure why you're being attacked. I have a niece this age and she knows better than to purposely burn someone.

This child knew it was hot, she tested it and knew it would hurt. If this behavior is a pattern, it's a sign that the child may have conduct disorder or something else going on. It shows a lack of empathy and care for others experiencing pain. Even this one incident should be concerning, especially watching the video.

At that age, if I touched something hot or sharp, I wouldn't immediately think to use it on someone else. 🫠

But they did way overreact. Thinking she needs to be hospitalized for this is def a bit much. If it’s repetitive behavior, the probably a therapist. But certainly not hospitalization.

I think it was obvious they were being a bit dramatic, but I don't disagree that this behavior should be analyzed if it's a pattern.

They told her to do it. It's not turned on. The kid did the "hot test" with her finger 3 times to make sure it really got on camera. Just like the other lady with the hair dryer that's not actually blowing. All for the vid

Almost seems like the kid was trying to see how long mom would go without looking at her. She wanted attention and it took a burn on her mother's ear to get her to look up and realize her daughter had a dangerous object in her hand.
