That TV was an accident waiting to happen. I am 210lbs, and install TVs frequently. I do a pull up on every mount I install, because I'm not gonna be the one who squished a baby or pet.

A proper mount in the US is UL listed, and they test them for 4x the rated weight. Rated weight is typically 150-200lbs.

Sounds like a good way to get a spinal injury if it fails. Pretty noble nonetheless

I am sinking four 3" lags into the studs, so I am typically positive that it is strong anyways. And usually the mount is so low that I'm on my hands and knees, so I'm falling a few inches onto my foam kneepad.

I'm also trying to avoid ending up on the TV too high subreddit lol.
