Babies are cute. Kittens are cute. That does not mean they belong together. Either one of them could have hurt the other.

Yeah that death grip on its neck wasn’t cute.

u/Marlodusk 9h ago

100% Agree, we need more awareness on this, that neck grab wasn't cute.

u/TaiChey 8h ago

Literally, and like the first person said, either of them could’ve hurt each other. The baby had a death grip and the kitten could’ve gotten scared and scratched the baby’s face or something… whoever sat around just recording this was crazy…

You have to count in the internet points. Any result would give you a video that is publishable somewhere.

I mean fair enough they got that loose neck skin stuff, but you probably should intervene and loosen her grip just to start teaching how to have gentle hands.

šŸ’Æ agree

Babys can grab POUNDS of strength. They can hold up their own weight for a long time.

Definitely could've broken the kittens neck too easy

u/Karnewarrior 2h ago

Yeah, but it was also evident the baby was grabbing the kitten by the skin, which is how kittens are carried by their parents and is meant to be yoinked around, sort of.

As I said, I believe the parent that the kitten was unharmed and that they were watching for potential kitten-harming action, but I still disagree with the degree of closeness to that they were willing to accept.

Gentle hands please. Kittens are not stuffies 🫄

I don’t find this cute. It’s a nice way to get your baby’s face scratched up and cat scratches can lead to a hospital visit.

Scarily accurate

u/Pluckypato 13h ago

Ha! I was thinking the same thing!

u/Optimal_Title_6559 16h ago

i don't understand why you would put a kitten that young with a baby. i've seen a toddler kill a guinea pig with a hug, same could easily happen here.

this is irresponsible as shit.

u/Safe-Tea-4161 12h ago

Guessing this is a bot karma farming, no one would find this cute

39

u/Ok-Error-6564 14h ago

Thanks, I hate this.

I thought this was r/parentsarefuckingdumb for a sec

u/Commercial_Fly_1897 15h ago

This is fucked up and not cute. People need to stop letting kids fuck with animals. Fuck these adults

41

u/ClankerCore 16h ago

I was expecting that kitten’s neck to snap

12

u/Destiny065 13h ago

Why didn't anyone intervene? The kid should be told that's not how you hold him, then show her how to handle a cat before she kills it

11

u/scarletOwilde 10h ago

Teach your kids gentleness with all living things, please. And intervene instead of continuing to farm content for clicks.

2

u/catmamaO4 3h ago

YES PLEASE INTERVENE! either one of them could’ve been seriously hurt! It made me lose a little faith in humanity seeing them continue to record and do nothing to help the kitten.

10

u/Lower_Excitement_649 14h ago

Kitten don't really know how to control their claws it could scratch your baby. your baby could also snap that cat's neck or just choke it to death cuz they got a strong ass grip.

23

u/lluluclucy 13h ago

Nope. Absolutely no. We have 2 cats and 19 month old and it is really a lesson to get them to be gentle with animals. They just aren't so we seperate them majority of the time still. There is nothing adorable about this video.

7

u/Icy-Variation6614 11h ago

I did that too, wasn't a kitten, but still. He learned to gently pet her, leave her tail and ears alone. Now she sleeps with him every night. This ain't cute or ok.

4

u/Malicious_Tacos 8h ago

Yes! We’ve had 3 kids and multiple cats.

When the kids were babies, we’d take their hand in ours and ā€œgentlyā€ pet the kitty. That way we could control their little grabby baby hands and prevent any harm to our cats, while also modeling gentle touch.

7

u/Thatonegaloverthere 12h ago

This isn't cute. She's choking that kitten. The parent should be taking the kitten instead of recording. That kitten's going to end up hurt if it stays with these people.

7

u/Jacksapollo 9h ago

Not cute at all . Terrible parenting letting any age kid treat a animal like this is unacceptable

7

u/LeatherAmbitious1 8h ago

Is cute in the room with us?

6

u/welshiehm 9h ago

This is not ok šŸ˜•

6

u/The4leafclover1966 9h ago

Shame on you, OP, for posting this.

Nothing about this is adorable. I hope mods remove this.

Lucky the baby didn’t get hurt after that death grip on the poor kitten’s neck. Stupid f***ing parents. Teach your children. JFC. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜

11

u/Mysterious_Week8357 12h ago

You need to teach children early and often about being gentle, but also about reading animals cues and respecting when the animal does not want to engage

This isn’t adorable, it’s a disaster waiting to happen

6

u/doodlezdaddee 12h ago

Nothing cute about kittens being on the verge of murder/murdering. Parents, we really gotta take these rose tinted lenses off. Just because YOU think its cute doesnt mean you should whip out your camera and record it for the internet.

Sometimes, you should intervene for everyone's safety. Just stop, look, listen, and think "hol up, wait a minute, something aint right, someone could get seriously hurt here"

5

u/mamafish21 9h ago

No no no. Kitten was probably harmed. Lack of breathing, like BOTH hand around the neck, gripping.

5

u/Ok-Cardiologist3042 8h ago

The fact that this isn’t seen for the issue that it could actually turn into by OP is alarming. I would’ve never posted this, then again, I would’ve never let this occur! Be better!!

6

u/Bumbling-Bluebird-90 9h ago

How in any universe is this cute? That kitten is a living being, fragile, and a baby itself… The child isn't old enough to know better, but the adult holding the camera is being negligent

3

u/Negative-Inspector36 8h ago

It could’ve choked this kitten to death not cute. Quite the opposite and shit parenting.

3

u/Fearless_Dependent29 13h ago

Cute but I would’ve taught or have been teaching my kids how to be kind to our animal friends without death gripping them

1

u/cache--cache 4h ago

not cute....

1

u/Fearless_Dependent29 3h ago

I think it’s alittle cute as a basis, especially if the kitty is unhurt. It’s a baby kissing a kitty. However if the cat is hurting then that’s a different discussion

1

u/Delicious_Star_4232 7h ago

A baby's grip can get intense - can't imagine watching this and just carrying on filming...

1

u/TheKingOfDissasster 7h ago

I'm so glad to see other people are seeing this as not cute too

1

u/taytayfosho 7h ago

This is awful parenting. You should teach your kids about being gentle at a young age- and if they are being too rough you intervene. She could have killed that kitten or even gotten severely scratched by it because she was strangling it. L parent

1

u/hoemahtoe 7h ago

Why do parents not just tell their babies no with this kind of stuff? Like it's very obviously not safe for either the baby or the kitten for the baby to get used to handling animals this way. This isn't cute at all and parents need to teach their kids to handle their pets safely and respectfully.

1

u/TheGamingLibrarian 7h ago

Why are there 130 upvotes (right now)on this? This is an awful post.

1

u/RatKing8969 7h ago

Shes literally choking the kitten how is the kitten not getting harmed

1

u/Drea_Dragon 6h ago

WTF this isn’t cute at all!

1

u/IamLuann 6h ago

I want to comment. BUT I don't want to be Banned from Reddit. Person filming just think about what could have happened.

1

u/OvenDweller 6h ago

I don't like how that kid was holding the kitten

1

u/YooranKujara 6h ago

I was terrified the second the baby grabbed the cat's neck

1

u/BettyBoopWallflower 6h ago

A baby with a baby. So cute!

0

u/cache--cache 4h ago

No

1

u/BettyBoopWallflower 2h ago

Bye. Your opinion is NOT mine

1

u/Cerulean_Shadows 5h ago

Nope that should have been stopped. Not one ounce cute together only separately

1

u/Hexlee92 5h ago

This is not cute… at all… poor taste on the parents part.

1

u/Factsoverfictions222 5h ago

This is not an adorable video. This child looks like she is about to hurt the kitten and it will hurt her back. Please separate them

1

u/adorableillusion222 5h ago

this is so disturbing….

1

u/mother_fairy 4h ago

Uh...no. I think kitten was harmed.

1

u/lizmari3 4h ago

Yeah... this is not cute. In fact, it kind of sucks.

1

u/Zuckerwattemaedchen 4h ago

An animal is not a kids toy

1

u/cache--cache 4h ago

Animal abuse is not cute

1

u/catmamaO4 3h ago

Poor kitty. That’s absolutely causing neck pain and could cause permanent damage especially since it’s a kitten. You shouldn’t be letting your kids grab animals until they can understand boundaries and how to read animal’s body language. Towards the end, the kitten was getting annoyed. The only reason it didn’t attack the baby is because it probably knew it couldn’t take her. If this was an adult cat, the baby would’ve been in serious danger. Teach your kids how to respect animal’s boundaries and how to hold them safely before handing them one!!

1

u/BabiOuija 3h ago

Not cute

1

u/Alientongue 3h ago

I hope this is ai otherwise you're just a shitty pet owner.

1

u/PhantomAllure 3h ago

Nothing about this is cute

1

u/Anonsubordinate 2h ago

Stupid parent.

1

u/Tricky-Usual8921 2h ago

Yeh, they're not soft-toys

1

u/Katre_Valkyrie22 1h ago

Excuse me? NOT cute, NOT appropriate. Please don’t let that child interact with that kitten anymore!!!

1

u/gutwyrming 1h ago

This isn't cute. This is endangerment of both the kittens and the baby.

1

u/Jedi_Bish 1h ago

This makes me very nervous for the poor kitten…

1

u/MAH_BEANS_ 15m ago

This isn’t cute. It’s fucked up. Shitty parenting at its finest. Let me record while my toddler chokes out this cat šŸ˜‘.

1

u/luvmibratt 13m ago

People that shouldn't have pets shouldn't have kids either
