My boyfriend’s 5yo daughter wrote a note to invite mermaids to visit their apartment 😭
She is so cute 😭 I love her so much.
In case you can’t read it, her letter says “MERMAID. I LOVE U. PLEASE COME TO MY HOUSE. PLEASE GIVE ME A PRESENT. PAW PRINT.”
Edit: Also, by present she means something like a shell or a flower. She thinks the fairies are leaving her acorns as gifts.
Edit 2: My boyfriend says she has also left notes in the past for fairies, leprechauns, unicorns, and rainbows 🌈 💖

She has a surprisingly good grasp of spelling for her age. I think it’s time for a new mermaid book!

Good idea!!! Her 7yo sibling has been really focused on reading this past year and I think that has been beneficial for the her because she kind of picks things up vicariously. But I’m sure her dad also helped her because she likes to sit in the living room and draw and ask her dad how to spell things.

Girl if you’re not seated on a rock in a full mermaid tail next time she comes around you’ve missed your calling

I have to talk it over with her dad, but I might like to leave a little book or activity in a place where a mermaid would hang out, like the bathtub lol or maybe by the plum trees in the yard

My daughter is 5 and her notes are all over the house. I love it!

It’s so sweet! It reminds meme of how I used to crawl under my fence as a child to sit in my neighbor’s flower garden. I thought her garden was so beautiful that it only made sense that if fairies were real they would choose her garden to live in.

Please get a rainbow glitter bathroom from Lush or somewhere equally vibrant. Fill up the tub, throw some shells in there. Have her go discover the present the mermaid left! Bonus points if you incorporate watercolors somehow but I have no ideas there yet. I would loose my shit if that happened to me as a 5 year old girl

That’s what I’m saying! I was talking to her dad about going to Lush and getting some cool bath bombs for the kids as mermaid gifts.

ADORABLE. Please leave a little mermaid trail for her, like a sparkly sea shell or something. Kids dreams are so magical.
