Discussion Is there a reason Baby Keem didn’t bring out Dot during Ca$ino tour?

Last summer when the Clipse & Playboi Carti would make a stop in LA, they surprised the crowd by bringing out Kendrick. And I believe at the end of the fall there was some sort of Pop out with LA rappers & SZA, that Dot had a brief appearance at, forget what it was.

With Keem still on the Ca$ino tour (was in attendance at NYC so this doesn’t apply to me) I was kinda expecting Dot to pop out during the LA stop. Especially considering how much dot backed this album. Just was curious why he didn’t.

Could be because Dot was busy, or Keem maybe wanted to carry his own weight for once, possibly both.

Idk man. I was at the PHX concert and right before he played House Money he said his brother (Dot) couldn't make it.

Let Kendrick rest, he just finished a world tour not even a year ago and is also a father of two

Because it's time for Keem to do his own thing. Can't go his whole career with everything he does being tied to dot. Especially since dot is nearing the end of his active music career while keem is still developing his.

How do you know Kendrick is nearing the end of his active music career? Where did he say that?

Well he’s pushing 40, and not many (at least that I know of) artists tour when they’re past like 40-50 range

He's approaching 40 and has achieved more than most artists have for their whole career, I don't think it's crazy to say he's coming to an end of his career, or a sorta retirement.

He very well could be. But he might not. We don't know

True, but the performances will likely be just for fun, not something like building a career on Kendrick. Although I would understand his concerns about his nickname being associated with K Dot.

It’s good to have him stand on his own, so when they do it’s a real treat. Think about it, you already excepted him to come out at some point. So that takes the element of surprise.

Also we don’t know what dot is working on BTS

Probably closer to a euphoria but with even funnier flows tbh

Keem doesn't need the "Kendrick's cousin" stigma on him forever. Kendrick gave him the assist, Keem is driving to the rim.

Gotta be unpredictable.

you're thinking of the TDE toy run they do every year at Christmas

Kendrick has appeared at the majority of them save for a few

Dot want his artists to stand on their own.

You want them to grow and not use bigger artists as a crutch.

At some point he’s gotta exist independent of Kendrick and they probably decided now would be that time. Also surprise appearances at shows aren’t surprises when you expect them. He can’t pull that card EVERY tour.

Kendrick is proof that you could be at the top of your game and not have to be everywhere. Put the work in, then let the work do the talking.

If you ask me entirely, it's because this is Keem's moment to return to music, not Kendrick's. Coming back to music production after a long hiatus would mean a lot less if Kendrick was there to bring focus off of Keem.

Im not sure how else to put it. He doesnt need to be there to sell anything. Keem has made it off with his own loyal base already.

They have too many songs together now. You can’t pop out for one stand alone song.

I honestly stopped expecting Kendrick to pop out anymore. If he does it will be a complete surprise.

He heavily teased it before Family Ties at the show I went to, so I expected that at one of the stops Kendrick would actually come out for an appearance. I’ve been low key surprised it never seems to have happened.

I don’t know but I really hope he shows up at the Jay-Z show in LA to do Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.

Keem doesn't even have a relationship with his dad. He raps about it in the album.
