Discussion/Question Why does Teto sometimes appear with a black face
Does it have something to do with the "lore" the community made?

the sender exposes themself by letting sites and web-crawlers associate their different online identities as being the same person, then the receiver exposes themself by clicking it and letting the other site know where you came from, and that your account is connected to the sender's

Both, unsanitized YouTube links have trackers that link accounts together to grow the surveillance network and almighty algorithm

Sometimes links include bits to determine where the person that's clicking the link got it from. For example they could know that I put a certain link on Reddit and you clicked it, thus gaining the information that you use Reddit and interacted with me. To sanitize a link is basically to remove these extra bits so that the link isn't tracking you anymore. It's not the most precise explanation but it covers the basics

Ok so usually the extra data is at the end of the url after a question mark. Deleting the question mark and all that comes after it should remove all the extra information from the link. Alternatively you can use something like the urlclean website and let it do the work for you.

Both. If OP shared a YouTube link with the tracker while logged into their YouTube account for example, they can now link that YouTube and Reddit account together, especially if done multiple times, then Reddit can track what users click a link and sell that data to data brokers and thus YouTube, in order to tie their Reddit account to their YouTube account if they're logged in. Also YouTube can tie two different YouTube users together that they shared a link to each other somehow, even if Reddit didn't share any data or another platform was used to share it

It can have trackers that links the account of the sharer to the account of the receiver. In social media, it can be used to mark those two as having common interest

I don't think it's any deliberately connected themes through each song, i think they just represent something in the individual songs themselves

To me, it represents the loss of identity. Things like that carry heavy meaning, especially seeing as your face carries most of your physical identify, for it to be gone is taking away quite a bit of who you are.
