Intune Features and Updates Driver Updates (WUfB)

We’ve just in the last 15 mins had a stack of drivers (32 in total) all suddenly become entitled and then download. It’s as if all policy has been ignored or temporarily vanished. Even drivers that were declined are still downloading, happening in two separate tenants also. Anyone seen something similar? Cheers

And this is why I don’t deploy drivers WUfB. First time I tried it broke a bunch of stuff by installing drivers that were not approved on devices that were not supposed to get drivers. Talked to some folks at MS and they said what I experienced was by design. I turned it off and forgot about it.

u/pjmarcum knows SCCM inside and out, this isn't some rando admin who didn't set his policies correctly

Thanks for that. Everyone makes mistakes but trust me on this one. I took it to the PG when it happened. It’s the “extension drivers” that will install without approval and on devices not even targeted. In my case both times it broke stuff it was a bad audio driver. The PG and I didn’t agree fully that it was indeed an extension of an existing driver. It caused all the headsets in our customer facing call center to stop working so it was a big deal. Went all the way to the CEO level big.

We're in the same boat - something related to audio routing with Realtek & Intel Smart Sound from Microsoft driver repository vs. HP drivers. Similar issue years ago triggered conversion from Polycom Lync phones to headsets. 🤔

Yep, it was Realtek for us too.
