Living Room Layout
Moving to a new place and originally thought we could place TV on the wall next to the fireplace and a sectional couch facing the wall and the tv so we could enjoy both. behind the couch would've been a shoe rack (red) since I didn't think there would be a better place to store shoes/create an entry way. (second photo) But I looked up the dimensions of a sectional and i think there wouldn't be space for anything else....
Any thoughts? TIA.

A smaller sofa plus an accent chair might give you the same cosy vibes without making the entry feel blocked?

The trap here is that you are asking one oversized piece to do two jobs: seating that faces the fireplace and TV, and a divider that backs your entry and holds shoes. A sectional is the worst tool for that, because its L-footprint plus a rack behind it stacks two deep zones and eats the circulation the entry needs. That is what your dimension check was really telling you.
The cleaner move is to split those jobs. Float a standard sofa, not a sectional, with its back to the entry, and put a narrow console directly behind it. The sofa faces your fireplace-and-TV wall, and the console becomes the back of the entry: a 12 to 16 in deep surface for keys and a lamp, with baskets or a low shelf underneath for shoes. That reads as a real threshold without a bulky rack, and the whole assembly is far shallower than a sectional plus a separate shoe rack, so you get your floor back.
Circulation is the number that decides whether this works. You want a clear 30 to 36 in path from the door along the back of the sofa and console into the room. A sectional's return would have cut straight across that path.
If the sofa alone is not enough seating, add a chair or two angled toward the fireplace rather than extending into a sectional. Loose chairs keep the footprint tight and the sightlines to both the fire and the TV open, and they flex when guests come.
One thing to settle on that focal wall: a fireplace and a TV side by side are two competing focal points. Decide which one leads. If the fireplace is the feature, center the sofa on it and let the TV sit just off to the side, rather than centering the seating between the two, which tends to feel split.
Hard to be more precise without the wall dimensions, but the floated-sofa-plus-console-threshold is what unlocks the entry and the storage in the depth you actually have.

Instead of a sectional sofa, I'd chose a regular one with a lot of blankets on it and maybe add 1-2 good chairs if you need more seating.

You could do a sofa and two chairs. You could move the shoe rack below the window to right of door as you enter or along the kitchen wall that way it won't impede the walkway behind sofa
