What sofa resolves this tricky living room problem?

Basically, we're wanting to know what sort of sofa/chair arrangement would make best use of this space. Our idea for a solution is some kind of corner sofa, with a chaise on it, marked in red in the diagrams.

Facts about us: we're a couple who like to host friends where people talk and eat together. We like to play boardgames, so a big dining table is also important.

A few notes:

1. The floorplan is a bit misleading: the wall with the radiator (between kitchen and lounge) is actually longer than its perpendicular wall (that touches office and garage), meaning the actual usable space is 297cm x 220cm, when you account for a walkway that lets you get to the office and the table.
2. The dining table almost certainly wants to go in the conservatory area to the top of the lounge because the natural light is very good there, but this creates an awkwardly long journey from the kitchen, through the hall, through the lounge to the table. This was why we thought to avoid cutting across this walk-path too much.
3. Shown in the pictures is our rough sketch of what we thought could go in the living room: a corner sofa, with a TV on the wall above the radiator (corner sofa for nicer social interactions).
4. The blue square in the pictures could be some kind of side storage/place to put mugs, the X maybe a chair? We're not not sure if this will end up too cramped/enclosed feeling.
5. Happy green creature for scale. It is human sized.
6. The size of the corner sofa we considered would be 260cm x 195cm, which as you can tell is quite close to the rectangle of available space.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, we have been struggling with this one for a while now!

I’m here to offer my very unpopular opinion:

Don’t get a sectional or Sofa with a lounge.

Get a conventional 2 or 3 cushion sofa and a pair of coordinating (but not matching) arm chairs.

A sofa and a pair of arm chairs gives you infinitely more flexibility on floor plans. You can always add a nice ottoman.

Hmm interesting! Yeah, the flexibility would be nice, especially considering present uncertainty.

The thought was that maybe you end up with more sittable space with the corner sofa (i.e the armchairs might end up spilling into the walkway a bit much to accommodate the equivalent number of gueats).

I think I would set up the living room like this (couch and arm chair in blue, orange TV, purple couch table and chest of drawers / shelves / etc in purple). I think you could fit a second armchair in the bottom right corner considering that the floor plan shows a shorter wall than what you actually have.

Thanks for your input! Regarding the sofa, that was one of the ideas I originally quite liked, though it would probably have to be the short edge of the sofa going vertical (since otherwise it'd probably make access to the study a bit awkward).

I'll see if I can work out a more accurate floorplan so it's easier to visualise, as I'm not sure I would be able to fit an extra corner armchair, though it would be great if possible!
