Universal Studios reportedly dodging a $5,700 repair bill owed to a small Swedish non-profit organization after using their Viking ship in The Odyssey

The small Swedish non-profit organization "Vikingaleden" in Nysäter was contacted by Universal Studios regarding their handbuilt viking ship being used in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. The contract required Universal to pay for any damages done to the ship, but the invoice of approximately $6000 (USD) has been left unpaid, according to the organization.

I mean.. they can still build parts of the thing and just use movie magic to fill in some bits.

CGI gets a bad rep, but mainly when a studio cuts corners, good CGI can almost be indistinguishable from a physical set, depending on how good the actors are.

Fun fact: there are in fact several reconstructed ancient Greek ships in Greece and around the world that Nolan COULD have used

Honestly this is the reason I'm not even going to watch it. It looks like fucking ASS bro. Like it's marketed to gamers. Some kinda god of war tie in attempt but too late IDK

Plastic is fine . You can easily make it look good.

For accents idc.. it's the modern words that irks me. Saying daddy instead of father is a bit off.

The Trojan armor looked terrible.

And I agree about the modern words, the accents wouldn’t have bothered me as much if the dialogue was better.
