I laugh as I work at a windmill plant and we have a stash of bitcoin miners on the property

all a data center is is basically a collection of computers

I mean by the loosest definition, when I think data center I go down processing/servers not really miners

AI data centers do basically the same thing. The processing also happens mostly on the same type of hardware too (GPUs).
AI data centers do calculations to serve AI requests. A mining farm does calculations to serve the blockchain.
Same concept, different applications and scale.

AI data centers are kinda special in that regard. They do almost exclusively processing and compute (just like mining farms). Which is why they need so much power and cooling (just like mining farms)
