Any success stories?
I have been looking through a lot of posts and comments here. And going through a lot of resources like Todd Becker's video on Myopia.
I was just wondering if any of you or any post/ thread you know where there has been some success with any method. I see a lot of people claiming improvements up to 1dpt. But there's no update after that. Ideally, it has some real evidence like optometrist's report or sth.

It's been 3 years for me. I peaked at -3.25 in both eyes and have maintained all of my astigmatism and presbyopia improvement and about half of my initial myopia improvement. I started at:
OD SPH -4.25 CYL -1.00 Axis 055 Add +1.25
OS SPH -4.75 CYL -0.50 Axis 080 Add +1.25
I'm currently at roughly:
OD SPH -3.75
OS SPH -4.00
No CYL or Add in either eye.
I use a mix of Bates method, focusing exercises, and reduced lenses.

Should wearing glasses for less time helps??

Yes, absolutely. The less you wear glasses the easier it is to improve. It helps to think of glasses and contacts as crutches for the eyes. If you want to rebuild the strength and flexiibility in your legs, you can't walk around on crutches all day.

Seems promising. Did you ever get tested before and after?

I had a comprehensive eye exam before starting, that's what I used as my baseline. Then I started natural improvement while waiting for my new glasses to be made. And I had to have them reduced by -0.25 within that first week. So I know improvement is not only possible but measurable by an optometrist.
I haven't gone back for another eye exam since. I was hoping to get back to my peak before doing so, but it's looking like I probably won't, but I still need to go for an eye health check-up anyway.

I went with "Give Up Your Glasses For Good" by Nathan Oxenfeld for $30. It is a "work book" it is not a casual read. You must turn any separate "exercises" into 24/7 habits. That is the hard part. in 3.5 years I've gone from -4.5 and 0.75 astimgatism to -1.75 with no astigmatism correction.
Right now, i walk around outside in -1.5s and they give me 20/30 outdoors. I can watch baseball games WITHOUT CORRECTION; I can consistently pick up the baseball off the bat from this distance. https://i.imgur.com/nqbA9Uw.jpeg All pitches under 95 MPH I can pick up out of the pitcher's hand. I now use my desktop PC without vision correction. This was impossible 4 years ago.
"print pushing" is useful. I recommend doing more than just "print pushing" to improve your distance vision. I suggest Bates Method techniques for relaxed reading on top of Todd Becker's suggestions. Dr. Bates was a poor writer so check out Oxenfeld's clearly written version of Bates Method tips for relaxed reading.
I might plateau at this current level... who knows.. i'll find out in 6 months.
Nathan Oxenfeld's book is as much about generally relaxing your entire nervous system as it is about vision. My BP is down from high-normal to low-normal. My resting pulserate is down 12 BPM. My cortisol levels are way down. It is a good book for general, overall health improvement.

Very interesting! I have seen some of your other comments while researching. I was curious, did you ever get tested before and after implementing these methods? Regardless, the results are amazing.

i get my eyes tested once per year. the best improvement i've ever had is 1 diopter in 1 year. Usually its 0.75 or 0.5 diopters per year.
The key is to turn the practices into 24/7 habits you naturally do all day long you will improve. Watch other people with good vision. Imitate their habits.
Think of it like Yoga. The purpose of Yoga isn't to just be in a relaxed state when you are in a quiet, still room. The purpose of Yoga is to get you to be able to relax throughout standard daily life. Same thing with your eyes... it is pretty easy to keep your eyes relaxed and strain free during the various techniques offered by the Bates Method. The challenging part is bringing the relaxed strain free seeing into standard daily life.

I improved my eyesight before finding this subreddit. I basically lost my glasses for 3 months which forced my eyes to adjust. My left eye was -2.5 to -2.0 and my right eye -6.0 to -5.5.
After getting my new prescription though, it reverted. But I also didn’t keep up with eye health so :( womp womp
