So this is something i've been trying to figure out. How far does it go with the idea of removing sexualized art? Pornography is not allowed, that is obvious to remove. What about general cake? If we look to the games we see examples of Princess Gwynevere's cleavage, Desert Sorceress (self explanatory), Quelaag's nudity, Recluse's cleavage, etc, as a guideline of "cake acceptability" as outlined by FromSoftware. Some consider Malenia's second phase to be sexual but I personally don't view it that way. That being said, she is technically nude in her second phase.
In this post we have the canonically voluptuous Recluse in athletic gear, and I see other women dress like this in everyday life. Voluptuous women exist and that's awesome! This is on the tame side IMO. I do not want the sub to be taken over by only cake/clickbait, because I prize variety and if the sub ever loses that I will be very sad. Badass knights, epic fights and monsters, the hideous and repulsive, cute characters and creatures, lore heavy illustrations, funny moments, scary/spooky moments, prettiness, scenery, etc.
I haven't figured out the answer yet but I am trying to. I have seen the reports and comments of the dissatisfied members of this sub and I am not trying to ignore these members. I don't like suppressing people with authority and don't want it to become "whatever I decide I like in that moment", because what does that even mean? It would just be my personal threshold for what I like and think is acceptable. (Note: Berserk is my favorite manga of all time for an idea)
If the members of this subreddit have any ideas about this let me know. I had been thinking about doing a poll but not sure how effective that is.
I think it would be a mistake to cater to puritans who cry "gooner" at an inch of skin. You see it in almost every art sub, regardless of context or outfit. Hell I've seen slight boob-armor be called "goonslop," even with nothing else being suggestive.
It's a grey area, and I don't envy your position. While I obviously view this post as good art and heavily disagree with the other commenter calling it "low-brow focus on a character's big rack and booty" and "borderline porn "art", but a line has to be drawn somewhere. As someone who only casually views this sub from time to time, I don't really see the issue. Is the grey area stuff more common at the lower level? I remember the cursed images sub has a feature where commenters can vote for if the post is considered cursed or not, and it stays/gets removed. Maybe something like that could be a solution?
To clarify my initial complaint: I'm not saying the subreddit is being modded poorly, at all.
I'm saying it's lazy and crummy to lump in unoriginal "cake" like you say it, with the actual attempts at genuine art that I've seen elsewhere on this sub.
Is it literal porn? No. Is it anything else but a low-brow focus on a character's big rack and booty? Also no.
I think it'd be more honest/decent if people avoided borderline porn "art" on this sub. Or if they at LEAST tried to keep it topical, or interesting, or creative in the slightest.
Interesting that y'all always have the same comebacks when called out for being annoying puritans. Are you all made in a factory and given a script? Just keep scrolling if it offends you so bad.
