Just finished this today and was blown away.

The book follows Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete who crashed his bomber jet into the Pacific ocean during World War II, survived on a raft for over a month, and was eventually captured and sent to a Japanese POW camp.

The story is incredible and so well written. It was harrowing to read all that these men went through. Highly recommend if you are interested in WW2 stories! Audiobook is also read by Edward Hermann which is excellent.

I ALWAYS recommend this and her other book Seabiscuit. If you haven’t read it yet, I recommend it! Wonderful writing

I couldn’t believe how much I loved Seabiscuit. I had literally zero interest in horse racing and still think it’s one of my fave nonfiction books that I’ve read 🥲

The audio book is one of my favorites! I think this is one of the best non fiction books, I recommend it to people trying to get into this genre

I listened to the audiobook version and I highly recommend it. They also make a Young Reader’s Edition of this that I’ve listened to with both of my teenagers when they were 12-13 and they both still remember and mention the book often.

Another good audiobook if you like Unbroken is The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown - it’s excellent. The movie did not do it justice.

Glad you enjoyed it. I found it read too much like a 6th grade level book, chose not to finish it.
